Looks like I'm going to pull the trigger on a pair of Airmotiv T2 this week. I'm an Monitor Audio fan, but reading a review of the T2, the reviewer compared them to M.A. Silver 10 ($2500) I want a 3-way and the Silver 10 was at the top of my list. I had a problem with a dentist visit & he o.d'ed me with novocaine & my hearing has not been the same. I find the M.A. now a bit "shouty" and it's pushed me to get something new. The M.A. C-CAM can be a bit bright with poor electronics as many have reported. (I don't have poor electronics) Done a lot of research and talks with owners & folks who know the Emotiva speaker line; haven't heard a single regret. My plan is using the T2 for my stereo music system, without a sub.
Any comments on the speakers

Sure. I haven't heard the MA speakers. But the T2s are utterly fantastic speakers. Even in a very large room (with the right placement) it really surprised with its bass response and then slam dunked it with incredibly precise holographic detail and even tone. There was little to no weakness. In fact compared to the Sonus Faber Sonetto VIII (a very fine speaker), it sounded very close to it. The only difference is that the much bigger Sonetto was able to have a little bit more stability/ in the low mid range/upper bass - not that the T2 sounded boomy, muddy, or anything of the sort.
When compared side by side, it was hard not to ignore the price difference. The T2 cost $1000 ($800 on closeout) and the SF was at least $6500.
Having said that the Sonetto also came with something the T2 did not have which was OUTSTANDING looks. So it does give you something for the price and it sounds good. But for real, the T2 is epic especially at the price. Also it's not bright (or dull).

I bought a pair of T2's shortly after they went on sale, and they really sound nice. They go deep, their ability to deliver a vocal recording is top notch, and I even like the looks. The cabinet is solid, all you get when you knock on the side is a dull thud. I'm driving them with a vintage Threshold SA/4e pure class A power amp, and they do that amp full justice.

Airmotiv T2+ ordered Figured why not go Plus., no tax or shipping I think you will like these, I do. right now I am using them in stereo instead of my main diy speakers (variation on the Jim holt statements design). there is a lot in the T2's to like. caveat..... I have the T2's. not the T2+. speaking with lonnie, I understand the improvements are subtle, not earth shattering as the audio press likes to say.

I sold Monitor Audio in my custom home integration gig, and they did well. I sometimes wish I had the T2 as an option instead in some instances because it does so many things well, and would have allowed my customer to pay more for say a better subwoofer etc. The T2 I think is my favorite speakers ever from Emotiva and one of my favorites period no matter the name brands. It is doing so much so well, for so little. Another Emotiva favorite classic for sure!

Typing on a laptop as I listen. Ok, I'm connected, using Integra @ 135w/ch into 8 ohms, so whatever it is into 4 ohms, stereo mode, everything off. Playing FLAC (internal Differential DAC Mode) Clint Black's Greatest Hits. I know this album well. Think Clint has a fantastic voice with range & his band is top notch. A Bad Goodbye- Wynonna Judd & Clint duet- nice voice, very clean, real, stage presences State of Mind (a fav)- starts with kick drum & Harp, oh ya, don't need a sub for that. Like The Rain- start soft with rain, quiet & builds, bold sound, can't tell upper mid from tweeter nice blend, woofers are tight no slop, end of song rain from left spkr then images around me. I'm hearing the instruments are noticeable, not back there & forgotten. Dixie Lullaby- brass instruments & woodwinds sound nice, real Been There- again, very balanced, clean, open, Band's in the room Shoes You're Wearing- drums are so clean, just really enjoying the song, balanced
Well, enough for now for speakers right out of the box. Generally very balanced, nothing sounds too much or not enough, I kept thinking about the balance of all speakers working together on each track. Haven't mentioned power- omg, they devours it. I didn't push it, but never thought that it might be too much, keeps sounding better. So far impressed... but for $1000, worth it for sure. I like the looks, simple. On the fence- get off it place an order. Plan to play them during the day to break-in this week and then connect to Anthem/XPA5 this weekend. I'll report back then
Update- speaker are 24" from wall, about 6" beyond the TV monitor, toe'd in to the spot, Had to laugh, my wife kept coming out of her office to listen, then back to work, back & forth multiple times. (she doesn't do that normally). During dinner she asked if I approve of them. "So far." "Well, you finally got stereo speakers & not just surround sound speakers that sound good." She's learned a lot, considering she & her ex had full McIntosh, Nakamichi etc system. I got a feeling she really likes them; doesn't make a big deal out of A/V stuff but I'll bet she'll be playing 'her' music very soon. WAF Forgot about the AMT's- they sound really nice- the cymbals "ring" , nothing harsh or 'tinny', the blend of T & M was very good. Can't wait for everything to break in after a month. My neighbor stopped over after work to give us some venison & he kept looking & listening, so finally showed him the speakers. He wants to return for a listening session.

I think you'll really like the T2s. After hearing the T1s and being exceptionally impressed, the upgrades done to the T2 should be outstanding. Those AMTs really make a profound difference IMO.

Watched some TV shows in stereo & speakers performed well. Some folks have said they don't like the looks of T1&2, I'm not one of them. I like the looks- nouveau. They are nicer than the pictures show. Would I want to pay more for a beautiful veneer, no. They're speakers, not furniture. I've had beautiful veneers before & didn't make them sound better. What I don't like- terminal cup; the wire terminals are not spaced at standard distance, further apart. I use these for safety reasons & do not fit.

I've owned the T2's for 4 months or so...and have only positive things to say.
I like all the speakers I own, howewver, I think the T2's uniquely fill a gap between my B&W (sometimes just too bright) and Klipsch (sometimes too shouty...if "shouty" is a word) 😬
I really enjoy them and still look forward to listening to them.

Yes, "shouty" is a word I use. (descriptive) My hearing has changed & found my Monitor Audio a bit shouty. I wanted a 3-way stereo speaker and may have found it, regardless of price. After thought- the T0 could make a nice surround speaker option with the nice blend of the 5.25 & Ribbon tweeter.

I ran Anthem ARC Genesis again on current system with Monitor Audio speakers and improved everything, sounds much better. Impressive Ran Audyssey Room Correction on Integra with T2 speakers and they sound really nice. I know Anthem/XPA 5 would sound better, but it doesn't do everything easily for music centric as Integra (I'm more a Denon fan than Integra, but the price was right) So for now, I'm leaving it as-is. I listened to them "direct" & "stereo" I like room correction better, helped a very bad room. My wife likes the T2+ a lot. Her comment was how overall smooth they are, likes the ribbon tweeter. I can hear the different but not to the extent she does- better hearing. She played some Rippingtons & other smooth jazz that revealed how balanced the T2 is. I'm satisfied. It's a 'must try' option.

What do you use for high frequency correction cutoff ? Have you played with the high rolloff in Genesis?

The best feature of the T2s are its ability to render vocals to such a degree where it gives the illusion the singer is right in front of you. And even maybe tell what microphone is being used and distance from the singer's mouth.
Next would be the bass. My amplifier might contribute to the quality, but it has fantastic impact, articulation, tone, etc. Really good stuff.
The midrange is OK, but I think the two stars of the show are the vocals and bass.
The T2s are more on the mellower, smoother side. Something to consider if you are looking for speakers that have more of a "growl" or "grunt" or strong in the attacks. You'd probably be better off looking elsewhere.

emofrmcgy- No, I did a better job with mic placement, used a tape measure & took my time. I've read forums that say it doesn't matter where you have the cut off. My first run was a quickie, was in a hurry & there's only 2 of us, so just did the 2 areas in seats & in front, nothing behind seats where the reflections are. Our room is 21 x19 x10 with large fireplace & raised wood paneling that reflects waves like concrete. We did move some seating a couple weeks ago. My graphs are much better this time. Everything sounds better- music & the movie we watched. I had to keep turning the sub down to satisfy the test to about <1/3 volume. Then had to turn it up to 1/2 vol for the movie, very weak. I don't understand why. Still believe Dirac is superior. I did not adjust any user settings, I'll play with settings after we watch more DVD movies. I do not trust DTV audio, some network TV shows sound terrible. Using latest software version. Audyssey did a pretty good job with 2 channel. The queen has stated, 'Thou shall not touch the walls." I'm so ready to find a new house that I can work with.
