Did anyone buyed the Airmotiv A1 for Atmos height and what do you think?
I plan to buying them and looking for your thoughts. The mid efficiency of 85dB and the small 4in woofer make me wonder about the integration with my speakers.
Thanks.

I’ve been contemplating replacing my Cambridge Audio Minx Min 22’s that I use for height speakers with the A1 but I’m hesitating due to price and efficiency of the speakers. The efficiency does seem a bit on the low side. It would be nice to use Airmotiv speakers all around because I can sure hear a discrepancy between using the two brands while listening to music. If the A1 goes down in price or if someone sells a used pair or two, I may eventually try them out.

I also think that they should have a price similar as the B1 but if we consider the second cover grill for ceiling reflection, all the studies the design etc., the price is certainly justified.

I Google it and by far absolutely no review yet from pro neither from owner, even on the Emo website. So I'm voluntary to be a reviewer if Emotiva graciously send me two pair with my next purchase upgrade of my XMC-1 to XMC-2..... What do you think of that Jessica ?

I just got them. I want to mount them on the ceiling but they don't have a mount and the instructions don't mention mounting them on the ceiling.

According to the product description, the A1 should have a mounting bracket built into the back of the speaker. It’s the one screw type.

Having heard the A1's at Emotiva's Tech Day, they would be my choice. Emotiva's approach of mounting 4 in an array and having 4 arrays as height channels is pretty cool, too.

So bought and set these up for 2 situations. Flat lying facing the ceiling for reflective purposes, sound great for movies and all. Then setup standing for music listening. I know its not how they were intended but in my situation the ribbons add another level of openness that sounds pretty sweet. I just switch them into position and flip the switch..haha Thumbs up from me...Thanks Emo.

The first thing I did was get the Dolby Atmos demo disk and tested all the speakers and Atmos was awesome! Then I watched Mission Impossible: Fallout also awesome then I tried DTS:X also awesome. I'm thinking about doing something similar (once the darn speakers come back in stock), but I'm assuming the little keyhole bracket that comes with the speakers won't hold them up there.

I would be quite cautious about using the keyhole. I feel like the keyhole itself is strong enough for the weight, but you'd need something to support the other end. I thought they sold brackets for these?
