Who sells brackets for these? Emotiva? As far as I know, they do not. I know SVS started including a ceiling bracket with their Elevation Prime speakers, since a number of people wanted them for on-ceiling installation. I'm thinking about investing in some mounts kind of like the ones above. It won't be the prettiest setup, but this is a very utilitarian room anyway, so who cares It's a blacked out theater, so the lights are only only long enough for me to find my seat.

The keyhole mount is not even built into the speaker housing, it's a plate you screw into the speaker at the specifically marked places on the back of the speaker, presumably so you don't have to bother with it if you're using it as a ceiling-bounce speaker. So I see no reason why they couldn't come up with a two piece "sliding nesting mount" where one piece attaches to the ceiling, the other gets screwed into the same holes as the current keyhole mount and when you slide them together there could be a tension screw to tighten.
Absent that, I had bought the "Monoprice Low Profile 22 lb. Capacity Speaker Wall Mount Brackets", Part Number 11410 in anticipation of using them and they feel like they do have a very secure keyhole mount solution once it's tightened onto the speaker with a wrench. However, they're not ideal for ceiling mount applications.
I ended up not using those mounts and just doing a regular screw into my wall straight to the keyhole mount for my high side-wall mount, and it seems to work well for Atmos for me.

That "two-piece" system is how the E2 (and its ERD predecessor) mounts to the wall. It's the best "factory" wall mounting system I've yet encountered.

I played around with mounting mine on my 'sloped' ceiling....No way! Pretty disappointed with the 'little plastic slot mount bracket' that comes with the speakers. I don't think I would trust it in a straight wall mount. Right now my plan is to try a 1 inch L bracket screwed into the tweeter end then into the ceiling - my ceiling is 5/4 pine board. If I still don't feel comfortable, the only other thought is to use another L bracket on the top. With some patience, the L brackets can be mounted L towards the speakers so you wouldn't even see them. Hate the thought of screwing things into my brand new speakers, but..... Yes, the ERD brackets are perfect!

I am going to make some ceiling mounts from plywood. I will share once I have them mounted OF COURSE! I could always use retrobill's method! Lol! Obviously, I started at the wrong end of the post! I actually have a 6 ft piece of 3/4 X 16 pine board sitting around for years, waiting for a purpose. Cut it up and finish it off; would probably look great on my ceiling....no painting or holes to repair in my case. And screwing into the back of my brand new speakers doesn't as bad.

My A1's just shipped. I'm excited to try these out! Tell us what is your thoughts about them. I think I'm happy with them, but I'm dealing with an XMC-2 issue that makes them kind of unusable at the moment. Now I have to send the XMC-2 back for service, which means it'll probably be a while before I get to really test them out.

Did anyone buyed the Airmotiv A1 for Atmos height and what do you think? I plan to buying them and looking for your thoughts. The mid efficiency of 85dB and the small 4in woofer make me wonder about the integration with my speakers. Thanks. Here are my Airmotiv A1 Atmos speakers. I mounted 4 in my ceiling Hey man, how did you do this?? I want to do exactly this and put these on the ceiling in our basement. I wouldn't trust the mounts that come with the speakers, so I'd love to know how you stuck the speakers to the wood, and how you secured the wood to the ceiling. Thanks!!
