I started learning to build cabinets a few weeks ago so I thought I would try my hand at building a speaker stand. I think I’m going to add a back so you don’t see cables and paint it black, as Mick said. What do you all think?

Nice job. I like the look of the open back. Maybe add clips down the back of the sides to secure the wiring out of sight.

Try a 1.5-2" PVC pipe of the total height and cut out the bottom of pipe half the diameter about 2-3" up for routing ease. Prime & paint as you find the best color. After securing it to the stands, it will add rigidity too. To mount it, you have couple options- pipe clamps or screws. To use screws, drill 1 outside hole large enough to the screwhead to go through, then a small pilot hole size for the screw shank. I did this on an entertainment center & it worked.

LOL - Did I ever show you my upside-down trash can stands?
