I was amazingly lucky today. I managed to score an almost-new pair of Emotiva Stealth 8's for around 1/2 price.
Oh. My. God !
These things are *astounding* ! Why in heavens name did Emotiva stop selling them ? And when will they start selling them (or an updated version) again ? I can't believe how good these speakers sound as near-field monitors on my desk. Yeah they're overpoweringly big on the desk, but I'm smiling ear-to-ear just listening to them. I'm hearing my music collection again with new ears :-).
When will they be back in stock ? It's not fair only the few people who grabbed them whilst they were in stock get to hear this !

Yeah, I have pairs of Airmotiv 4's, 5's and 6's and I love all of them ! The 6's are in for repair right now so I jumped at the chance to get the Stealth 8's. Now I have to decide where to put the 6's when they get back from Emotiva. First world problems :-).

I don't have any insight into Emotiva but I suspect the reason they stopped offering them is the same reason anything is discontinued: Either low sales or expensive parts that become hard to obtain.

I guess you must be right. But what a shame that is. They sound so beautiful. Crisp, clean and clear - the perfect near-field monitors. I hope Emotiva re-launch the powered speaker line with updated (made in the USA would be wonderful, but that may be asking too much :-) parts and a profitable price point. |

I got some Stealth 6s at the open house too. That is fantastic and amazing at the same time considering how long ago they stopped selling that model. I’ve been keeping an eye out for the Stealth 6 on eBay to use as surround channels in place of my Airmotiv 4S. I’ve only seen two different sellers in all that time but the shape of those monitors in the listings were not that great so I passed. I snagged a pair of Stealth 8’s several weeks ago and love them but I still give the Stealth 6 the edge in size, damping and sound quality. |
