Plan to have a atmos set up 11.1 or 11.2. I bought the JBL SP8CII for height ceiling speakers.
Anyone use the same or similar speaker for atmos ceiling?
the discount is so deep($70 for a pair, original price is $280) so I go for it.
I wonder if this speaker is good enough or it is too good to be true?

For $70/pair, it is definitely worth a try! I went to the JBL website and the frequency response data is odd, perhaps a misprint? I would expect to see a speaker's frequency response rated as XXHz -XXkHZ (+/-3dB), not the (-10dB) they show. They carry a five year warranty so they should be manufactured well. If you don't like them, at least the wire running and hole cutting is done so they will be a piece of cake to replace. Enjoy your upgrade, happy listening!
The Spec sheet shows: Maximum recommended power: 100 watts Impedance: 8 ohms nominal Frequency response: 32Hz – 20kHz (–10dB) Sensitivity: 89dB (2.83V/1m)

I bought them earlier this year and have installed them.
I think they are pretty good and am waiting to see if Dirac will help make them sound even better.
My biggest problem is finding enough Atmos material that has overhead sound. Aquaman is good but other Atmos movies have very little sound for the JBL in-ceiling speakers.

I upgrade to Atmos earlier this year and found Mad Max Fury Road to be a great disc for Atmos. That is my go-to disc when I have people over that want to experience an Atmos movie.
