As usual excellent packing on Emotiva's part. Very easy to unpack and setup. Man do I love the lighter weight of these amps. Piece a cake to move around and down into the basement where HT and music room is located.
Got everything running in, but less than a half hour of warm up time so I'll refrain from making any judgment calls other than to say not only are the amps much lighter in weight but they are barely warm to the touch, more like room temperature + perhaps 10º ± more or less. So for now chalk two up for the DR-1's lighter, and less heat. Oh and they are noticeably quieter too… so far. There was one brief hiccup during setup and would feel remiss if not mentioning it. One of the amps would not initially boot up, and kept shutting off. Its chilly up here in Big Sky country so hopefully this was just a balk due to them coming up to room temperature having been out in the delivery truck all day.
Normally I will make only one change at a time, so for now I am breaking one of my cardinal audio sins with different amps and pre-amps simultaneously. Regarding break in time, this is an issue that seems to create conflict. After a few hours, perhaps a day or so I just feel the notion of electronics needed a couple of hundred hours of break in time to be irrational, illogical and non sensical, but would welcome what others have to say on the subject.
More later.

I do want to post a complete review of these amps eventually, but the quick and short of it for now is I am extremely impressed and satisfied. For anyone else interested, more later. Thanks for your patience.
