I have the PRE-1 and I like it due to the XLR outs BUT now that I have my EQ its not a deal changer as my EQ has XLR and RCA inputs and XLR outputs . SO it leads me to this other issue.
I have 3 amps. 2 for mains and 1 for sub. Right now I am using a different powered sub instead of my sub amp because the PRE-1 has no sub management. I can run 2 channels of my EQ but then Id have to run my other towers off the same EQ channels.
The USP-1 has sub out and so I could run the sub out to my sub amp and bypass the EQ part all together and run all 3 amps. my 3rd amp would then run my 2 subs and I would not use the powered sub.
sounds good. I just don't know if I give up any sound quality by going with the USP-1. I know they are supposed to be same but are they? Ive read different reviews and all my equipment has changed since I ran the USP-1 and I cant recall how it sounded lol....problem I guess when you change too much too often..lol...

I've never heard the Pre-1 but, so far as the USP-1 goes, cold, dead hands, as they say.

Why not a XSP-1, if not new via the used market.

Why not a XSP-1, if not new via the used market. Chad Actually I picked up a nice pretty XSP-1 gen 2 but it has me puzzled so I am about to make a new post.
