I'm not sure If I'm posting in the write place for this but is anyone using Amazon's new HD service? I decided to give it a try and am having a lot of fun with it! If you're not familiar with it yet, it's an add on service to their Prime Unlimited Music service and to get HD audio streaming you have to use their Windows, Mac, Android or iPhone app. I'm using three of these and loving it. The service streams no lower than 16/44.1 with a limited number of recordings going up to 24/196. I just purchased a Music Fidelity V90 DAC which I'm finding to be quite an improvement to my old XDA-1. I'm running it via it's asymmetric USB connection which only supports up to 24/96, but unless you have the ears of a bat I challenge you to notice a difference going up to 24/196. The sound coming from Amazon is as good as anything I have on disc or on my Sony HAP-Z1ES. The interface could be better but I'm hoping they improve it over time. You can try it free for a month and if you already pay for Prime it's the cheapest streaming service out there at 12.95 for the unlimited and HD service. I'm hoping others will chime in here and share their experiences with it so far.

You may be surprised as to how good it sounds.

A good place to start is with Dianna Krall "The Girl In The Other Room". It streams at 24/196 and is superbly recorded and engineered.

I listen to it through my HTPC via HDMI. Yes is sounds as good as my CDs through an OPPO 93 via HDMI or S/PDIF. No it doesn't sound as good as MLS through the same HTPC. But it's cheaper and has all the songs I want.

I’ve also been using Amazon Music HD for a few months, now that the trial period is over I’m being charged $7.99 a month (I also have Prime). I like it quite a bit and have found most of the music I’ve looked for there. We started discussing it in the thread below a while back, I mentioned some limitations in the Windows and Mac clients there, though they still sound good. emotivalounge.proboards.com/thread/55802/amazon-music-hd
