Hello all,
First post here. I bought an LMC-1 and LPA-1 over a decade ago. They still work just fine but might be time to upgrade the processor.
In terms of sound quality, any idea what I'd gain with the MC-700? My system is running Axiom Audio speakers and a HSU sub from around the same era and. I use it for roughly 50/50 music / TV. I will soon buy a 4K TV, so the 4K switching in the MC-700 is very appealing. And I'll use the LMC-1 as an office amp thanks to its 2 x 25w built-in amps.
As well, does anyone know if a computer connected via HDMI to the MC-700 will pass through MQA from Tidal?
Thanks for your input.

I can't think of any reason why it shouldn't be a good fit. It doesn't understand MQA best to my recollation. Probably pass through as regular PCM. I could be wrong. It sounds fine. Should do nicely with your amp and Axioms.

The MC only has HDMI 2.0a, so you won't get the full benefit of your 4k TV whenever you get it. You will gain DTS-HD and TruHD ability which will improve the movie watching half of your split.

Welcome to the lounge, there are plenty of threads and posts that are searchable here. Again don't do it, you'll be sorry.

As with anything, there are folks who love it and others who hate it. I don't know much about them, but also check out the processor from Outlaw. Again, do your due diligence prior to buying.
