Newer Samsung TV ARC Not Supported

Hi All,

I have a refurbished (new to me!) XMC-1 running 5.14 firmware.  My Samsung UN82RU800DFXZA won't recognize the XMC-1 via HDMI ARC.  I've swapped cables, etc.  When I called Emotiva they said they are aware of the issue specific to newer Samsung TV's and will issue a firmware update within a couple of weeks.  Nothing yet....any word on this?  Thanks

ARC is hit and miss. I can't get it to work.

Use Optical from your TV - delivers 98% of ARC and works every time.

Yep same on my Sony. I never trust ARC except not to work.

The kicker is it worked fine with my former Marantz AVR.

It never worked on my old Denon AVR, and Denon is the same company as Marantz. Like I said, it's hit and miss.

Don't waste your time with ARC - just use Toslink, and you'll be happy
