Any other Emotiva owners record music and use there main system for testing? would like to check it out. This Classic Rock Style tune I wrote was final tested thru my XSP-1 - XPA-2 (gen2) and Ascend Towers. Really wanted to feel the drums at volume with this one & the Emotiva gear was a big help in getting it right. soundcloud.com/user-410026182/rage-for-the-machine

Sounds quite nice! For sure it's got a nice punchy sound on drums and everything has a good amount of pop to it. I also record stuff but they are all simple one take videos where I just wanted to record our jams. Most are recorded in the living room with the mics in the center of the speaker so it's probably the closest listening environment to check if things sound the way they should. I have figured out how to get stereo phantom microphones to be recorded directly on to an iphone video, if you are interested in the technique let me know.

They are very amaeteur stuff - just my wife and family playing music instruments, singing fun songs etc. Other than high background noise, I think they sound fantastic - warm, natural in tone with a lot of positional information. I use a TASCAM DR 70D MK 2 to create a stereo camera/line out from two phantom power microphones. Also as an unnessential feature, it creates a higher quality digital recording that it holds on to. It can also create a -10db digital recording at the same time as that one to prevent clipping for safety purposes. www.amazon.com/Tascam-DR-70D-4-Channel-Recorder-Bundle/dp/B00U1SMWES/You'll probably want some sort of rechargeable battery as it will run through an entire set after about hour and a half. Then a analog to digital converter - usually they call it an audio capture or vinyl ripper - converts the analog signal to digital wav format. www.amazon.com/DIGITNOW-Capture-Grabber-Cassette-Converter/dp/B079CBGDST/ This goes to a iphone camera connection kit www.amazon.com/FA-STAR-Charging-Compatible-Keyboard-Controller/dp/B07W92Q529/The CCK has two inputs. The second input I use a USB battery to provide enough power for everything and keep things stable over long recording sessions. Then I just hook it into an iphone and press record. Voila stereo audio and you get to pick the mics you want. You can also use a mixer board and simply output the analog output to the phone.
