Has there been a problem with this amp? Mine has performed perfectly since the day I installed it into my Atmos system. I think they wouldn’t be able to keep up with demand had they a better price. That’s my only criticism of this amp. Anybody else have this amp? Comments about it please.

The A700 is the only product I’ve ever returned to Emotiva. Similar to the complaints in the A-300 thread, my objection was fan noise. In my room it measured 37 dBA SPL, which was clearly audible during quiet passages and between songs. I submitted a review to Emotiva which other than the fan noise was favorable, I liked the sound of the amp. Here’s an RTA measurement I took of the noise, the first is amp on, the second amp off.

@audiohtt Thanks for the reply, I’ve never hear any fan in this amp. I don’t push it hard at all as I use it for Atmos speakers.

I use 6 of the 7 channels for rear and atmos speakers. It's been solid and I have no complaints. I agree that with a lower price they would be very hard to pass on.

AudioHTIT Thanks for the reply, I’ve never hear any fan in this amp. I don’t push it hard at all as I use it for Atmos speakers. I previously had a UPA-700 and expected similar performance, and fans that only came on if the amp got hot (I never heard them come on). With my A-700 however, the fans were always on when the amp was on. When I submitted my review (and returned the amp), I asked them to test the amp and let me know if it was performing normally, they said it was. I would have liked to use it for my overhead speakers. A PA-7 might make a nice replacement.

IMO that closeout price doesn't look right, the A-5175 is $140 off and the A-800 is $130 off, the price of the "Closeout" A-700 looks more like the adjustment to the lifted Tariff's ?? maybe I'm wrong but the other amps on closeout are discounted more.

PA-7, is the sherboughrn? No, I made it up, a 7 channel PA-1 w/ Class D. I think a multichannel Class D would be great for Atmos systems. Mark
