Anyone ever replace a plate amp? My current subwoofer utilizes a 300 watt BASH amp and looks like the 500 watt BASH plate amp is a direct fit and replacement. Both of them use a 11 x 7 inch cutout [still have to measure my actual BASH amp]. Just curious if anyone has used BASH amps for their active subs and what your experience is with them especially if you've built your own cabinets or swapped out the plates: www.parts-express.com/bash-500s-digital-subwoofer-plate-amplifier-500w-rms--300-752

BASH amps are fine for subwoofers.

I've replaced one before, but only due to failure. Pretty straightforward. That 200W difference is only a dB or two.

Should not be a problem. If it's an exact fit, great. If not, you may have to do some cutting. Just make sure you seal the plate input well.
