I am looking for a center speaker for voice clarity, not necessarily for full range, bass or music. In this case would the C1 performance be just as good as the C2? I have dual subs for the low end.
Has anyone compared the ERM 6.3 to the C2? Is the ribbon tweeter a huge improvement?
Are the C1, C2, and ERM-6.3 ported or sealed?
In the same price range would you prefer a perfect used ERM 6.3 or a C1 for vocal clarity?
Thanks

I'm curious here as well. I have a C1 and often think about getting a C2 instead. Mainly because it is larger and, in my opinion, just looks better. I'm not sure it is going to make a huge difference sound wise though given that I cross them over at 60 or 70 Hz as it is.

I needed a center for the basement set-up and had a Revel Performa3 F208 sitting around, a lady gave it to me free when I bought her Ex-husbands ERC-3 off Craigslist a few years ago......not exactly a true "Center channel" speaker....but what the heck, sounds incredible, Lol

For movies the center channel is as or more important than the front mains and should match the front mains as closely as possible. Using three of the exact same speakers is the best solution, although not practical for most home theater users. Get a center channel that is from the same brand and series as your mains if at all possible, and since it is the most important for proper soundtrack reproduction, use the best quality if more than one choice is available.

My center channel was from 1986 and the dialogue was awful. I purchased a Definitive Technology Pro Center 2000 and it is like night and day. It is definitely designed to be a center channel and sounds good as a full range speaker in All Stereo mode. I am very impressed. Total Frequency Response 42 Hz → 30 Hz Nominal Impedance 8 ohms Max Sensitivity (1 watt @ 1 meter) 91 dB Recommended Amplifier Power Per Channel 10 watts → 250 watts
