I'm very happy with my XMC-2, except for the slow and frequently failed HDMI switching. Often when I switch to my HTPC all I get is a blank screen. By switching to a different input and back it will sync. Also, the annoying "please wait" when the audio re-cyncs, everytime the content changes (I click on something). Someone else mentioned the Dr HDMI device that goes in the HDMI cable between equipment, to solve these syncing problems. Who has actual experience with this? Does it work? Is it the magic bullet we've all been looking for? Sincerely /b Dr HDMI => www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07MCMTZWD

Today “marcl” posted about his experience with this in the XMC-2 Owners thread. You may want to talk to him about it. It’s an HDFury product and there are many owners of there products here on the Lounge. www.hdfury.com

Oddly, this is one of the things it is supposed to eliminate. The RMC is the most stable my HDMI has been. I do think my old cables were causing some of the problem as well.

I have the XMC-1 and a Dr. HDMI. It's nice...my HTPC always sees the HDMI input as active. Switching inputs and turning the XMC-1 on/off has no effect on the system (no flickering or redetecting multiple displays). It eliminated glitches with display detection where Windows would occasionally pick a different resolution or color setting. It's probably a little faster, but I have the original HDMI board so switching time is pretty quick anyway.
As far as the XMC-2, it will probably help, but I wouldn't assume it's a silver bullet for all Emotiva's HDMI woes.
