For those not familiar with it, consider the Black Ice tube DSD Wi-Fi DAC / Headphone amp. Mine is sounding pretty great. Priced between $700 & $900 depending on whether you find a sale and a BARGAIN for its price.

The Yggdrasil was an instant rejection because of the lack of a remote, a ridiculous oversight that Shiit make far too often.

I don't understand this desire to have a DAC with a remote. How often do you truly change your input source? What matters to me is volume control from a pre-amp. If you really need a remote, just buy a Bifrost 2.
Personally I think the Yggdrasil is a bargain for what you get.

In my book nothing over one thousand dollars is a bargain (yes I am cheap when it comes to a DAC). "What you get" is very subjective.

I’ve really enjoyed my Brooklyn, for so many reasons. At one time I thought I may replace it, until I looked around and shopped and listened. The Brooklyn by Mytek has ticked off so many boxes for me. Not the best DAC in the world but for its sound vs cost, I’d challenge you to find better. Stack on top of that all that it gives you. It’s also a preamp, MM/MC phono preamp. Digital or Analog volume control WITH a remote control. MQA and so much more. Here mytekdigital.com/hifi/products/brooklyn/As I said before, I looked around and decided to keep such a great sounding and versatile bargain. A better bargain could be the original Brooklyn sold by Mytek at a discount with the same warranty.

My friend is a concert engineer who came over and listened to mine and was impressed.
