I bought a DC-1 from a forum member but the remote doesn’t work. I’ve change the batteries out and ensured the connections are clean but still no luck. Any troubleshooting ideas do that whether the remote is malfunctioning or the sensor on the unit or otherwise it is very welcome.

Old remote trick. Got a camera that can shoot video? Aim the remote control and select a function on the remote. You should see a pulse of light from the remote show up on the video. If you see the light, the remote is at least sending the signal to the DC-1. If that works. Could still be a questionable remote or the sensor might not be functioning. Also since this was put together with ROHs compliant solder, not a fan by the way. Could be a bad solder joint in the sensor circuit. Also check any connectors leading to the sensor if applicable. You know the basics. Of course exercise proper caution when opening up the DC-1 that you have the unit unplugged and allow the capacitors to discharge. Yeah it is a small component but proper safety protocols still apply. Remember, if you open up the the DC-1 or any electronic component, you do so at your own risk. Please exercise care. If you are not comfortable opening up the DC-1, a professional technician is your best way to go.I think it is something simple. Remotes do go bad. But I gave you a couple things easy to check.
