Does The above mean That you have the speakers and Sources and that you are wanting to spend $2K on a pre/pro and 7 channel amp? Or do you need the speakers as well?

I haven't seen anything but bad reviews of the MC700. Are the latest ones being shipped stable now? Also, this processor will not do Atmos and DTS:X. I know you didn't say you wanted that, but I'd personally hate to spend money on new gear and it not have these things for any future needs you might have. The amps in this category seem to be a good value though.

The awesome thing about Emotiva is they provide great value. If there were no issues with these processors, I'd be far more inclined to recommend them. You have to make that decision of how much stability factors into "value". I very much like the idea of separate amps from a processor. Amps you can hang onto for a long time. If you really don't want immersive sound for the next few years, and you can confirm that this platform is now stable, then I said go for it. It isn't a ton of cash for a few years of enjoyment. I'd be more inclined to get good amps and speakers. I happen to really like their speakers. I don't have a ton of experience with high end speakers, but the T1s are far and beyond better than any speaker I've owned at 3 times the cost. But, this is comparing against Klipsch RF-83s. I'm not sure many would consider those "good". If you are planning to use subwoofers, and setting your speakers to small, the Basx line of amps are probably sufficient. I've never heard them, but people seem to like them. I'm sure there a great AVRs out there, but I made the move from AVR to processor and I'm never going back.

On the pre pro let's talk a bit. This is your audio video hub that controls it all. Qualifiers. What is important aside from directing the associated gear you shared with us. Room correction? Alexa compliance? Other Automation? Great sound? Emotiva Bias alert here. Yeah, they sound great! Facilities for all your anticipated sources not realized today? Future resiliency?...no such thing as proof so forget that mostly. Number of needed channels? Video management? HDMI currency? Not money, how recent is the version along with HDCP Interface? Can you live with it everyday. Stability of use?
Just a few things to ponder on you Preamplifier Processor

"Built in the USA" for $2000 for 4k pre/pro and 7ch amp would not be doable from what I have seen out there, the XMC-2 is USA built with parts foreign and domestic but it is $3000. Since Emotiva has mostly abandoned a decent and affordable setup like you are looking for I say check out Outlaw Audio, Model 976 pre/pro that does 4K(No Atmos) and the Model 7000X amplifier, they both have XLR connections which myself I prefer, the processor is $999 and the amp is $979. outlawaudio.com/products/Cheers, Chad

I would consider the outlaw 976. It has 7.1 analog input. The current mc-700 Does not. I plan on keeping my umc-200 until it dies 😁.

I've looked at Emo T1 and T2 , as I'm convinced I want full range up front..
The look like they sacrificed a lot on the cosmetics and put most of the money into the components of their design..
My hearing "aint what it was.."

www.usaudiomart.com/details/649574295-bryston-sp3/Seems Emotiva processors are a crapshoot, as I can attest. I have not seen as many refurbished items on any other site Until I stop seeing posts like mine and others complaining about their processors, I am saving for a used sp3. I, however, have had no problems with any of my other Emotiva products.

Hey Jim,
There is also a XMC-1 with the 4K HDMI board for sale here on the lounge from a trusted member, from what the ad reads he bought two of the XMC-1's that people have been trading in for the XMC-2, he is asking $1050 shipped within the US, so that with the Outlaw Model 7000X amplifier is also an option, i have the XMC-1 and an Outlaw 7000X in my system right now and the sound is so good.
Cheers, Chad
