I've recently purchased a Denon AVR X3500h for my theater area. I currently have a MiniMac (Audirvana, FLAC Files) connected to it via USB and it works OK.
Question - I have a spare Emotiva DAC XDA-2 and would it get better quality if I install the Emotiva DAC in between the MiniMac and Denon X3500H?

This is one of those experimental moments. I say connect it up and see what you prefer. You certainly can't hurt anything and maybe discover some new solutions. Also you get some additional connections beyond the Denon too. All wins I see here, but your mileage may vary.
