The Klipsch rock speakers get good reviews online. But no personal experience to share. Klipsch AWR-650

Just to tag on this thread, how about outdoor subs, like the kind you bury? Any recommendations? Also how are they wired? Do you go to the sub first, then to the stereo pair (like some indoor satellite type systems?) Or can you run a separate wire and run the sub in parallel to the mains?

My cookie-cutter neighborhood is on .2 acre lots, I am sure I would be getting letters from the Homeowner's Association about the noise with those bad-boys installed!

I understand and spent plenty of time in neighborhoods where I wouldn’t consider outdoor subs, but I’m in a community where everyone has very large parcels and now could put them in without giving anyone grief. Though that’s somewhat where the wiring question came in, might be nice to continue running the zone speakers full range and switch in the subs when I’m actually listening (as opposed to just working outside).

In my last house and it will be the same with my new house (once the rear landscaping is finished), Ive used the rock speakers and rock sub from Outdoor Speaker Depot. My last house had four rock speakers around the pool and jacuzzi with a rock sub in the island area of the pool. I used a Sony receiver with one of their mono amps and it actually sounded really good. I've already prewired the new house and I won't have a pool but we are having a built-in jacuzzi and putting green so I'm doing almost the same thing. Two rock speakers by the jacuzzi and two by the end of the putting green with the rock sub in the landscaping in-between. I'm using their mono amp for the sub and my Denon 1500 with an Emotiva A-300 for the rock speakers. I've also got two Def Tech AW6500's under the patio cover. My backyard should thump pretty good when finished around July. I set the high pass crossover at around 80 for the rock/6500 speakers.

I can always opt for plain outdoor speakers, I went to OSD website, saw the AP850, have you heard those or any of their outdoor speakers?

I have not. The rock speakers (RS670 & RS850) are the only ones I've heard. And the rock sub (RSUB300). I do really like my Def Tech AW6500's. They sound awesome.
