A couple months ago I bought Ford v Ferrari Dolby Vision/ATMOS digital movie from iTunes. I still haven't mounted the Tops speakers yet, but that didn't stop me from enjoying the movie when I first bought it. I hadn't checked the movie lately, until Saturday, and when I was checking some settings on the XMC-2 re ATMOS I wanted to verify something so I went to my movie and was shocked that it's NOT ATMOS ANYMORE! Lucky for me that I took a photo of the movie thumbnail just after purchase to show some friends what we would be seeing on a future Movie Night! coming up. The photo shows it as being an ATMOS version I purchased. The new non-ATMOS version I don't want. Has anyone else experienced this type of after-purchase alteration? It just seems so wrong to sell something and then later change one of the major features of the product. Apple accepted the return and made a refund with no argument. I'm still left wondering why this happened and how it was allowed to be.

For sure, I would be sorely pissed š” if I had gone thru all the effort to properly set up an Atmos system, only to have a vendor play games. Bill

I'm surprised that the people were thorough enough to note the change! But yeah, I agree, I'd be pissed off too. I also imagine the atmos streams are compressed vs the 4k disc versions. I watched the 4k blu ray of stranger things season 2 and the audio was a noticeable step up from the 4k streaming version. (only had two channels to listen to though)

BTW I'm pretty sure you can get your money back if you made a complaint as it is a bait and switch to a film essentially "missing channels" of sound.

It took less then 8 hours for them to issue a refund approval. I still don't know what happened to the ATMOS version. It's just not available on iTunes anymore.

I READ THIS POST EARLIER THIS AFTERNOON AND IT PI$$ED ME OFF.
Came back to it this evening after being thoroughly frustrated trying to stream music through the headphones as I was attempting to relax...
Ok, I get it. Millions of folks are streaming and bandwidth is finite.
But I purchase a black circle of vinyl and it plays for 45+ years. (My personal experience)
I have cd's from 1983 that sound perfect. (37 years)
I own 4K BluRays and lesser editions. (You know where we are going..)
I OWN THESE PRODUCTS.
And we are surprised when we purchase a digital product and content disappears???
Ok Boys and Girls, Ones and Zeroes in any fashion, Binary Code or better are still just flashes of electrons stored on metallic pathways.
My faith in the cloud...
One little zap of static electricity and poof! Magic Blue Smoke.... GRRRR!
Enough ranting. I hope you are all safe, fed and healthy.
God Bless you all.

I donāt trust anybody! Almost! But I really donāt trust ANYTHING that has to do with a computer!, cloud! āOfficialsā! Banks! How many folks have had their personal information slathered all over the place and its their problem to fix it. Its all BS! Iāll usually rent from Redbox and if I really like it I purchase the disc. Iāll own the disc and have it on hand. I donāt need to rely on the cloud or internet. I can even listen to my discs, LP od CD with a generator if the power goes out! LOL If the movie isnāt really in need of 4K or Atmos Iāll purchase it used from Redbox and get the Blue-ray disc. Itās usually only a dollar or so more then a rental. I can always gift it or lend/give it to a friend. š One more note, depending on what I read hear and on Rotten Tomatos Iāll spend the big bucks for the Full Monty! Atmos and 4K
Good Luck Stay Safe God Bless each of you.

I can't help but wonder if this isn't a NEW version of an OLD story...ā¦ā¦simply a matter of "somebody" deciding that they can make a better profit on a certain product if they simply leave something out that the average user doesn't use or care about...ā¦.(not equipped for it) etc. By now I own probably 10 (at least) ATMOS enabled bluray discs......and so those audio tracks rest, collecting digital dust. It's b aaaaaack! It's another ATMOS offering in iTunes, and it's cheaper at $7.99. Weird. I chatted with iTunes Help and the person was no help whatsoever. It was recommended that I go to the link this person sent me and give my "recommendations" to help with features and services. ??What?? Language barrier. Wrong script. I ordered the disc from Bestbought.
