New car! 2020 Subaru Outback Touring XT Got it a few weeks ago. Enjoying it so far FAR better Sound System in this one than our 2010 and LOTS more โtechโ (I might have to actually READ the manuals on this one...)

Nikon Z6 mirrorless camera with 24-70 F4 and F-mount lens adapter And the Video performance is quite good too. They didn't castrate it like Canon did for the longest time. Finally Canon is listening to their fan boys. Like restoring 4K 24 fps like it was new or something. Marketeers. Can't stand them really. Excellent camera choice George!

So recommended, makes allot of other machines broken. Most use slip and grip. Subaru is symmetrical all wheel drive 24/7! So while others will introduce AWD, Subaru had it first and changed how the snow bunnies get along. I had 2 Subarus and loved them both. WRX and a Legacy GT. Still doing 75MPH in the snow on all weathers while others were spinning out all over the place. The Subaru delivers. Not to mention their IIHS scores. Mostly Top Safety Pick or Top Safety Pick Plus!

Nikon Z6 mirrorless camera with 24-70 F4 and F-mount lens adapter Nice... I have a D90 and can't yet decide between getting a D500 as my last traditional DSLR and wait for the next generation of Nikon mirrorless or take the plunge and get a Z6 as well.

Still doing 75MPH in the snow on all weathers while others were spinning out all over the place. The Subaru delivers. Not to mention their IIHS scores. Mostly Top Safety Pick or Top Safety Pick Plus! So far - So GOOD This machine has ALMOST as much "Giddyup" as my 2004 Volvo S60-R that I had a few years back and interior / seats are probably NICER. AWD System that Subie uses is hands-down the BEST that I have driven (Superior performance and less complex than the Haldex variable-conversion "diverter" sub-system on the Volvo). AFAIK - the only AWD System that MAY be "superior" is the Quatro system used on Audis - and that comes at a considerably higher price tag that I'm willing to pay-for (at least, as NEW) The big tires and "mild-off-road" suspension is just the ticket for crappy Urban area roads during ALL seasons. We're not there yet - but if anybody has an older relative looking for a car: The seats are at "bun-height" = makes getting in & out easy Rear-seat leg room is like a mini-limo. There is actually enough room behind me when I drive for a normal adult (I'm 6'-3") Only complaint is that I wish I could disable the stupid Start / Stop operation. (You can do it on a "temporary" basis - as soon as you shut-off the car and re-start it, it gets re-engaged). I worry about the added strain on the starter and battery and maintaining oil-flow to the turbocharger when the engine shuts-down. I am a relatively "green" person - but NOT at the expense of unwarranted wear-and-tear on my already expensive vehicle. I'd happily trade the gallon or two that it saves over the course of a year. (It's ALREADY a PZEV and I've chosen a turbo-4-banger over a more thirsty 6-cylinder model that this engine replaces.) Call me "old-school" - But I STILL firmly believe that the biggest "Safety Feature" of ANY car is the thing with a Brain sitting behind the Steering Wheel (AND staying-OFF hand-held phones / fumbling-around with stuff while driving, at least while in any sort of traffic / city driving...) A vehicle with good dynamics and good tires / brakes comes next = the ability to maintain control and steer-around or stop for "the (fecal matter) that happens" This is our 2nd Subie and is unlikely to be our last - unless all of the added tech / complexity starts impacting RELIABILITY.

Nikon Z6 mirrorless camera with 24-70 F4 and F-mount lens adapter NICE! I think that if you already have a heavy investment in decent Nikkor lenses, (or access to good USED ones) that's a smart way to go. Their optics are really nice. Modern Mirrorless gives-up NOTHING to DSLR. (Anything that you lose is MORE than made-up-for in compactness and the ability to see your image in the Viewfinder / Screen as a WYSIWYG) Nikon seems to be finally embracing the Mirrorless market - rather than looking at it as a "cheapened" alternative to their DSLRs. I'm Loving my Fujifilm X-T3 that I upgraded-to about a year ago. Started with the X-T1. Fuji X-Series has smaller sensor, but I find it "just right" for MY needs.

I have 5 AF-S lenses which will give full compatibility with the adapter and three more that will work fine without AF. And of course there is the included 24-70 lens.

The H6 was forgettable. No love lost there with Bearing issues inside, they could keep it. The H4 and H4 turbo are great motors. Tires are where it is at. I am looking at some Yokohamas maybe next time around for the Cherokee 4x4 Latitude I have. www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?message=singleSize&tireMake=Yokohama&tireModel=Geolandar+A%2FT+G015&partnum=265HR7G015&autoMake=Jeep&autoYear=2014&autoModel=Cherokee+4X4&autoModClar=LatitudeAllot of folks like the Goodrich KO2s but you want to check tirerack.com and also wait for the 2020 winter testing results to see who comes out on top. So far Yokohama leads the way in every metric with snow yet to be tested.

For All-Season Tires - when the OEM ones on our 2010 Subie wore-out; we bought a set of Michelin LTX in the correct size from Tire Rack. THOSE rode nice and quiet and had terrific all-season traction (no off-road use, but they were GREAT in Summer / Rain / Snow) They are a little more moolah than some - but they will probably out-last the other ones and end-up being less costly or equal in the long run. If they make 'em in the size that you would need for your Jeep - I would give them a solid recommendation.
New Outback comes with Yokohama Avid GT - Jury is out on these until I see how they wear over time, but they ARE quiet and smooth so far.
I had performance Yokos on our old Mazda MX-3 GS that was Wifey's car when we were first married. (Those were GREAT on dry roads and rain but were downright DANGEROUS on snow / ice - we bought a set of Blizzaks for Winter use on that car & it was Night-And-Day BETTA' At the time, we lived in Green Bay and my wife was driving between there and Appleton on a regular basis - the "piece of mind" was worth every penny.. even on a light front-wheel drive car with relatively low Ground Clearance; with the Blizzaks, that little car could "truck-through" stuff where dudes with 4X4's were getting stuck.)
Don't know how old the Cherokee is, but if you're not keeping it for a long time or if you want a more cost-effective alternative - my brother always ran BF Goodrich tires on his old hand-me-down Ford "Exploder" and got good wear out of those.

Pic by request... My lovely bride just presented me with a McIntosh MC452 power amp, a C2600 preamp, and TWO MC 275 power amps, all NIB, to drive my Maggie 3.6r and PBN Montana EPS speakers. All sounds and looks terrific. Seems she likes blue and green in our great room....

Beam me up Scotty! Was never said, but hey Happy New Year everyone, and no you cannot order Egg Rolls at Waffle House, but in any case, I just bought an Anthem AVM30 for my Bedroom and the Logitech 665 to drive it and my other gear at my place. Have a old Marantz RC2000 mk.2 looks like an old Universal Remotes. Will learn to fly it too. Got it for 25.00 bucks so not so shabby, and the Bacon is still crispy. As my kid buddies would say. Yo! But I will get this all organized so I don't fall back into the Beecches back slide stupid 7 trillion remotes and sucking up more batteries than Astro on Alpha Prime. Less Electrons and Nuetrons and Protons and such going to the wrong place. Stupid is getting a redo. Yeah, that Marantz remote looks like a cousin of my Home Theater Master MX-500 remote, also branded as Universal.
