Looking forward to your evaluation BoomzillaI've had a soft spot for Yamaha gear for years. My Dad had a system he used for sound in a theater department where he taught high school. It was pretty impressive. Mark

Schiit Loki (to be tried vs. DSP) Oh fun! The notches are for 20hz 400hz, 2 khz, and 8 khz hz.

Actually, the 20 Hz. and 8kHz. ones have "sliding" centers. As I understand it, the more boost you apply, the closer the center of the peak approaches the stated frequency. But I may have understood the review incorrectly. In any case, the centers are "bass / lower-vocal-range / upper-vocal-range / treble." Unlike a digital parametric equalizer, the Q of the boost or cut (steepness of the curve, or in data terms, "kurtosis") isn't user-definable, but it is what it is. IF (and it's a big "if") the Loki doesn't introduce any audible problems, then it's doing better than all the DSP that I've tried.
What the Loki WILL force me to do is to VERY carefully route single-ended, unbalanced interconnects around the hum-factory that is my equipment rack to avoid noise. I can be more cavalier with interconnects when using XLR components because of their noise rejection characteristics.

Dayton Outriggers (for Emotiva T2s): Adding spikes under speakers for decoupling is a good idea. And also adding a tick granite stone under the spikes between the wood floor also multiply the decoupling benefits to the house structures particularly in the case of suspended wood floor (no concrete structure under the floor) like my house. The vibrations literally died in the inertial granite material. Plus avoid damaging the floor. You will find a 2 in tick granite stone in every good cemetery store near you.

Just bought these to replace the old broken patio speakers DEFINITIVE TECHNOLOGY AW5500 5.25" 2-Way Outdoor Speaker Black I've got two of the white 6500's. I like them a lot. They're hanging under my stucco patio and the audio is actually pretty good. They have a bit more bass to them compared to some of the other outdoor speakers I've heard. Also very well made.

Welcome to my home office and my bedroom. Initially the Neat King Bee mic. Too F'ing heavy for the stand. So the Newer with arm and cable and mic is my work mic. My Planar headphones are my audio monitors. So when I make calls and hear I sound great, so do they. Bad sound is NOT in my office!

Do non-audio purchases count? I'm a big fan of Breville since first getting a toaster of theirs about 17 years ago. A toaster is simple, right? But that toaster was the first one with repeatable results for years. I'm on number two, not because anything was wrong with the first one, but because the newer one had more electronic gizmos to cook my bread. Old on the left, my current one on the right. I'm almost like Elwood Blues with this stuff. Also have their microwave and smoothie blender. All three are used many times a week.
