View Attachment I hate neck straps with a passion. I may get a dual body strap for both of my 1D Canon, or Sonys. I second that, I never use straps to hang a camera from my neck. I set them to their maximum length and hang my camera on my right shoulder or across my chest. Alternatively, I wrap it around my forearm down to the wrist to mimic the kind of hand strap you purchased. A body strap is something I have been thinking of. It would make easier to carry my two Nikons when I want two camera bodies with different lenses.

When I had the XMC-1 I enjoyed flawless network linkage when using a Netgear Prosafe managed switch, but it was a 10/100 speed connection, and, to use Dirac I had to have everything involved connected to this switch. So, when my internet speed increased I wanted to be able to use that speed with the computers in the house, so, I had to take that switch out of the network system. In doing so I went from 100% network link with the XMC-1 and then XMC-2, to almost 100%. This meant that I'd need to reboot the processor more than once sometimes. I've been using just the wifi router with 4 ports during this time. I put up with this for the last few years - until now. Also of note is that I keep the Emotiva Dirac Network Interface Box connected 24/7, and this is why the XMC-2 has trouble sometimes with getting a network link. Emotiva will say this shouldn't hinder getting a link for the processor, but this just isn't the case in my experience. When the EDNIB is not connected the XMC-2 gets the link easily. I use Dirac often enough that I want the EDNIB available. So, . . . . I tried other switches with the same amount of less than perfect performance with regards to the XMC-2 attaining a network link easily. Then I went back to Netgear and - again - now have 100% reliability with the XMC-2 attaining a network link, even with the EDNIB connected all the time. And, this switch allows me to use the wifi from the router and yet still see and connect to the XMC-2/EDNIB without any hinderance. Highly recommended! Picked up 4 of these during yesterday's Prime Day... they will be replacing 6 - 7 year old 4TB & 6TB WD Reds within my NAS. I simply hope the older drives make it through the drive shuffle data migration process.

Enough space for a couple years I hope. Will you do the shuffle live and have it maintain data redundancy? That'll take a week or two won't it?

Enough space for a couple years I hope. Will you do the shuffle live and have it maintain data redundancy? That'll take a week or two won't it? I built my NAS using Unraid for the OS... it consists of a Ryzen 7 5800x CPU, 32GB RAM, dual port 10GB Fiber NIC, Nvidia P2000 GPU; it currently has 13 HDs and 2 SSDs. This will be the first time I perform the disk shuffle to replace drives; so not sure how long this will take me, but yes, the plan is to allow the system to rebuild the data on the new drives. I've only added drives in the past and that's a simple task of shutting the system down, installing disks and adding them to the array via the UI. Unraid doesn't stripe data across the drives, it uses parity for redundancy, so that is the 1st drive I'll tackle and once parity is rebuilt, I'll move unto data drives. If a drive fails, I'll only loose the data on the failed drive; however, our important docs and images are synced to Google Drive and iCloud while selected data is backed up to a pair of 12TB drives connected to my PC. My PC is also connected via 10GB fiber, so moving tons of data between it and the NAS is relatively quick. I have 1 SATA port left on the LSi SATA / SAS controller in the NAS, so I can add one of the 16TB drives to perform the parity rebuild and go from there. The last time the system performed a Parity check, it took 15 hours, 40 minutes and 46 seconds, so yea... to swap in these 4 drives, I can see it taking ~4 days if not longer. unraid.net/

As for cloud ... geez I don't know if I'd live long enough to sync my 30TB to a cloud backup

Unraid has been pretty flawless for me these last 7 years or so; I can run multiple VMs, dockers, etc. from a single box. Prior to Unraid I had a Synology NAS; forgot the model.

Picked up a HCA-3500 for $300 locally....sounds great but needs some internal stuff updated (caps, resistors, etc)......after all it's like 20+ years old....

Still an Anthem, but an updated one. I need 4K switching and I want the Anthem sound. Done! MRX-520 with ARC mic kit, and remote and original box and packing. Done!
