I lived with the S8s with Maggie .7s and I was shocked at how good they are for the price. The only trouble I had was at extremely loud volumes so I decided to go for the S12.

The S8 might not go down that low but it sure punches and is very fast, something you LRS will appreciate for sure . I would say a great match!

Yep I would agree, the XPA gen3 will drive maggies just fine. The Subwoofer is self powered usually. But I too would opt for a larger subwoofer. Just me. Your mileage may vary.

I currently use 2 8inch subs with my mg1.7s. All depends how you listen to it. I have also run them with two 15inch subs.
