My XMC-1 with 4.1 FW thumps when input switches between no audio and audio. Basically I see it often when watching some YouTube videos on my Roku. If there is a gap in the audio, like when the person stops talking, there is a thump as the sound drops to 0, and then another thump when the audio comes back. Worse, there is a delay before the audio recovers, so I miss the first 1/4 second or so of the speech. It's so annoying on this otherwise fantastic unit. Please can anyone help? I have searched the forums many times, and cannot find any thread that addresses this issue except maybe this mention here

That sounds like something’s up with your Roku or the attached cable. Swap out another streaming device if possible to see if the same thing happens. Also, make sure the updates for the streaming device and the app updates are in place. Bill

It appears to be a known issue, but I will try it with the same content from another device. I have 4 streamers (Chromecast, Roku, Apple TV, PS3) so I can try same content on all 4
Thanks

Well, I have tested a video that exhibits this issue on both the Roku and a Chromecast, and in both cases the thump is there. I will see if I can find the video later if anyone is interested in trying it

I am having trouble finding the "offending" video now but will post as soon as I find it.

Looked through my YouTube history back a month and can't find a good exmaple. I am going to generate a file myself and see if that works.

Finally, I have something. I put together this video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=298VlTJTCmAYou can notice the thumping mostly at the "audio greatly reduced" part, where it starts and stops

Awesome, thanks. I have two videos listed now... the one I made and the one I mentioned just above I just ran both YouTube Videos: XMC1 4.1 Cast video from iPhone to Sony UHPH1 all apps updated. Velodyne HGS 18 subwoofer (if you’re gonna hear a thump, that will surely deliver it! Sunfire amplification. Both videos played flawlessly. Perfect muting, nice sound acoustic piano. No thumping
