Based on he specs, the B1+ looks almost identical to the 5s, with the obvious exception that it's not powered. Can anyone confirm this? I currently have a pair of 5s' that I put in my son's room. However, he also has an older Denon receiver in his room (and 1802 that we have wired as a preamp), so he doesn't need powered monitors in his room. The only reason he has the receiver is to provide switching between his various devices. Of course, that means the amp is being wasted, and I'd love to get the 5s on *my* computer desk, but he'll be bummed if the sound quality goes down in his room. Would this a reasonable swap, or would he experience a significant drop in sound quality?
Annoyingly, Emotiva keeps giving me Emo Bucks when I make a purchase, and I have $140 burning a hole in my pocket, which is the primary reason I'm thinking about making this purchase.

I'm running B1+'s on my desk powered by an SMSL AD18 along with a powered sub, couldn't be happier with the sound!

Why don't they make powered monitors anymore? I have the 6s and I like it.
