We actually have a very effective bug tracking solution... it's just not open to the public. And, for that matter, we also have a pretty good automated system for tracking support calls.
Perhaps you should consider designing a processor, avoiding all the foolish errors we keep making, and give us some serious competition... I'm sure if you actually could design and produce a superior processor, at a similar or lower price to ours, there would be plenty of customers eager to buy it.
My issues aren't technical in nature. They all point to leadership. Up and down the chain of command. Review my complaints for 13 months. They all point to the same place. You should consider being cautious when stating your bug tracker is effective, when in fact, you continue to repeat the same bugs. I'm not really looking for a war here, but you aren't doing yourself ANY favors by how you are speaking. You are the FACE of this company to thousands of consumers. I'm not sure if you realize that or not. Yup, definitely time to move on. 13 months of bashing Emotiva, the management, RMC owners and every aspect of the RMC except the power cord is more than enough. You say you're done yet you're still hear whining about the same things.

Are you saying the bass increased with 2.2? That did not happen with my setup, but I have not re-run Dirac. Prior to firmware update, I saved a copy of the Dirac calibration on usb. Re-loaded this back up once firmware update was completed. Re-checked levels using internal tone generator. Had subs at +2db before update and this now had to be reduced to -5db to get former level (75db/slow reading/centre weghted). All other channels remained almost the same. I updated from 2.1 to 2.2, reloaded Dirac files, checked REW and it measures the same or nearly identical. No change in bass. Something is wrong on your part...

It sounds like Sony fixed something... cool.
Note to all... in case you didn't realize it. ARC is part of HDMI-CEC ... so ARC WILL NOT WORK unless HDMI-CEC is enabled. However, on our processors, only the "main master HDMI-CEC check box" needs to be checked.
At least in theory none of the other HDMI-CEC settings should have any effect on ARC.... note that I said in theory there.
After the last Sony tv firmware update which wiped all settings, I hadn't used ARC so I couldn't remember the key settings to look for, so I did a "Initial Setup" on the Sony tv. This made it easy. The only item in checked in XMC-2 Setup:: HDMI CEC is Enable, nothing else is checked. CEC is not enabled on anything in my system except for this setting. So then I just started the Initial Setup on the tv. This is what it looked like. In the third image you can see that the tv detected the XMC-2. The XMC-2 factory default is for HDMI CEC to be Enabled, I used to turn this off but lately I've kept it enabled. I setup Button #6 on the remote for ARC and it works when I choose #6 first or if I start streaming on the tv first, either way. I don't have any sources connected to the tv, so it's just the apps streaming from the tv. View Attachment View Attachment View Attachment View AttachmentThanks for the ideas. I tried every night this week after work. I have had a 0% success rate with ARC. I've tried all different booting sequences, shutting down everything, pulling power and HDMI cables, etc. I have CEC enabled on the TV and XMC-2, no functions turned on though. I did try enabling "Volume" and "Audio to TV" but it still didn't work. On the TV, I tried full and "ARC Only". Stinks because I do like just using the TV for Netflix, Amazon, Tubi, Crackle, etc. Looks like I may have to buy a Fire Stick or Roku and use an HDMI input on the XMC-2, I do not know what else I can try.

I was in the same situation. I needed to get the streaming apps from the TV to work for my wife. Simplicity is best for her. I dont know if this is an e-arc or arc port thing yeehaa [probably not ] but was made aware of a new device that would suit the non e-arc ported rmc's ; some workabout thing cheap to try maybe ? www.thenaudio.com/

Yeah, I've tried Device Discovery on the TV multiple times, usually XMC-2 does not even show up. I had this same TV with the XMC-1 and it worked probably 2/3 of the time, a simple reboot would fix it if not.

There is a lot of variability in reliability processor to processor and a lot of variability in performance on any given day for a some processors

Hey guys can you check something out for me. I added a new component to my system hence I changed the name under the input section. But after restarting it the old name was back. I changed it again and did a back up to both the system and to a usb drive. Then this morning when I turned it on the old name was back. Not sure if I have a problem or if its an issue with the new firmware (2.2).
Could someone change the name of an input on an xmc-2 (dont think it matters which system you do it on) and see if it stays or reverts back to the old name after a shut down please? And more precisely try it on input #3.

I just changed Input 1 and Input 3, Low Power Standby for a minute, then bootup. It's powered up now and the two Name changes are the new names I entered.

< RMC-1> . after 2.2 , I also had to reduce SUB output to -5dB from +3dB . (go figure !)

So for some reason now I can’t get ARC to work and the system frozen and I had to reboot from the back switch. Tried everything to get it to work again but no luck. A work around was I ran an optical cable and that’s doing the trick. This will have to do for my wife as of now until I try the new 2.2 update.

I did not reload the original Dirac files or re-run Dirac.

I noticed a massive increase in bass, probably about +10dB on each sub, but that would make it align with my first run through Dirac upon release last year when the bass was -10dB after calibrating. I just used a spl meter and adjusted it down to match my left front output. I did not re-run Dirac.

I just used a spl meter and adjusted it down to match my left front output. I did not re-run Dirac. I have found that sometimes a massive increase in volume of a particular channel or pair of channels can come and go. I check levels with a SPL meter after every Dirac calibration and more than once I have seen the sub level be very high, back out of the menu and go back in and it's back to normal (and stays that way). This week I did the Dirac calibration three times and every time I downloaded filters Dirac crashed afterward, and the processor was in a state where the left/right channels (only) were loud. After a reboot the L/R were okay but when I checked the center level it was about 4db louder than it should have been. Backed out of the menu and went back in to Levels, and the center channel was normal. I replicated this twice today. Anyone who says they see an increase in the level of any or all speakers, I believe you. And anyone who says it mysteriously changed after a reboot or input change, I believe you too.

Which version of Dirac are you currently using that crashes? Is there a version that doesn't? Asking, because I have not had an opportunity to re-run lately. Good to know about backing out of the menu.....

Dirac 3.0.13 crashed all but one of the dozen times I ran that version. 3.0.11 works just fine.

I also ran an optical cable temporarily but then that started causing super high volume staticky/scratchy audio on the optical input. I checked the cable and connections and all seemed fine. I am not going to buy a 2nd optical cable so have been trying to get ARC to work all week with no luck. Seems I am going to have to buy a streaming stick and use the XMC-2 HDMI inputs from now on.
