I just noticed that playing my cd transport though digital coaxial as stereo mode, Dirac engaged 2.1 and it shows 24bit 44.1khz and not 16bit 44.1khz. Any way to have the internal dac not up sample? Am I missing a setting some where?

Am I missing a setting some where? Was reported ages ago .. The AKM dac isnt upsampling ;its just the oled not indicating 16/44.1 as it should . Programming for all the bit rates and sampling rates available these days is complicated ;other brands have limitations as well. For example the dirac processing rate being displayed would be beyond most makes as the following indicates/follows Factoring in diracs processing rate which was a long running topic here ; initially was going to be 192khz due to the new dual core chipsets ; then was droped to 96khz for ages then back to 48khz like the HTP-1 and Arcam derivative models .. Its worth noting that a Storm audio mk2 also processes dirac +BLCM at 48khz

It is bit-padding and of no concern whatsoever. It has nothing to do with Dirac function as such. It has nothing to do with up-sampling or down-sampling (this refers to the frequency (sample rate)
With padding, 16 bit audio harmlessly gets 8 zeros added onto the end of it to make 24 bits. The extra zeros represent the last bits, called the least significant bits (almost like decimal places) so of decreased relevance compared to the first 16 bits of a 24 bit signal which are ABSOLUTELY IDENTICAL to the original 16 bit source.
Think of 24 bit representations as being the same as 16 bit binary but with the equivalent of just more than 2 decimal places after it to allow greater accuracy of signal representation (but only if the bits are actually used! If they are all zero (as in padded 16 bit) there is no increased accuracy, hence "padding"

Emotiva suggested that I send my XMC-2 to EG Service in Denmark, which I accepted. The shipping cost will then be relatively low. When I packed the XMC-2, I heard something rattling in the processor. Much like a loose screw. $100 says the cover of a capacitor from the PSB is rolling around the bottom of the case. The error has been repaired: "Our service technician found the following issue: A capacitor in the power supply was blown"

Hello, My RMC-1L arrived. Just plugged it in. It is for 7.1.6 Dolby Atmos setup. Tried very basic tests, mostly things are working, however I am not able to get audio out of Dolby Atmos content. I am streaming from an Apple TV. When Atmos is enabled in the apple TV, I get no audio. When it is disabled, it plays fine with non Atmos content. I didn't have this problem with my previous processor. I acknowledge I have not read through the manual as things are pretty intuitive for the most part. Is there some setting I need to enable to get Atmos audio track working? Any pointers and things to check will be much appreciated. Thanks!

Did you configure your top speakers in the speaker setup menu or just plug it in and let ‘er rip...?

I think he's saying he gets no audio at all, not just no Atmos audio, no audio at all

He's just differentiating between atmos tracks from his apple 4k - no sound - and regular dd+ -sound is there Comes back to the decoding of the dolby MAT .. This has come up before ; possibly Keith has the answer by selecting lpcm instead of bitstream .. emotivalounge.proboards.com/post/1023647/thread

Update on 2.2 fwiw processor has been 100% available when I turn it on, several weeks no reboots, no major popping since the one time, had to stop by and say it’s very nice.

Once I tried a different cable, everything works fine. Just to clarify, I was not getting sound only for Dolby Atmos tracks. Even for Atmos tracks, when I turn Atmos off in AppleTV, I was getting audio. Thanks for attempting to help.

Is there a way to upmix DD content w DTS neural:x? I don’t recall seeing that option the last time I played a Dolby movie, and Dolby’s restrictions for this were lifted 1.5+ years ago. Can anyone comment? Thanks

What's with the hdmi lag, xmc2 or cable ?? What do you mean by "HDMI lag"...? Lock-on timing, lip sync, signal dropouts or something else...?

Hopefully they make this directly available in a future firmware update. I figure this has been mentioned to them already, but I’ll still send them an email.

What do you mean by "HDMI lag"...? Lock-on timing, lip sync, signal dropouts or something else...? Takes a couple of seconds for vid/sound to click in. That's the HDMI board and that's normal behavior... These processors aren't the fastest switchers out there, but ~3 seconds is what you can expect. My AV8805 was a bit faster than my RMC-1L, but nothing earth shattering.
