Possibly I misread KeithL 's post, but it's titled "[- CURRENT VERSION -]: RMC-1, RMC-1L, XMC-2 Firmware - v3.0", yet the post discusses FW2.5 and links to 2.5. Did I miss something or should this all say 3.0? I just saw the same, but his post also says " as of 7/1/2022" which is tomorrow. Me thinks someone jumped the gun...

I am subscribed to the Firmware forum and get notification each time a new firmware has been posted in the past.
I just got an email to tell me there has been a new thread to the forum by KeithL entitled "Work"
Nothing is visible, but maybe a new firmware is imminent.........

I can not find it. Where did you see the "KeithL 's post, but it's titled "[- CURRENT VERSION -]: RMC-1, RMC-1L, XMC-2 Firmware - v3.0"" post?

Thanks but I get this when I click HERE "You do not have permission to access this post." How did you get permission?

Actually I saw it right after he posted and it said January 15th or something like that, looks like it’s fixed now with 3.0, I’ll try it tomorrow.

Did 3.0 get pulled. Last night there were posts of people downloading and installing it. This morning (at least for me), those posts are gone. I downloaded the file, so I know I wasn't dreaming :-)

Odd, my download says Firmware 3.01. You must have gotten the pre-release version. 😉

I downloaded a copy last night (file name: EmotivaUpdate-3_0-2022_06_29), but I do not think I will install it. I think the "Work" notice from KeithL was a test that snuck out the door. Now, it's wait until it shows under the Specs and Downloads tab on the XMC-2 Product page...and also for a post from Emo as to what exactly the newest version addresses.

I guess the cat seems to be halfway out of the bag regarding the new firmware, but I would encourage any who were able to access a version to wait until the official release is posted, which will be soon.

I have an important question regarding ticks/pops/clicks for anyone who has had their processor from around firmware 2.0 days. Was there a specific firmware version where this tick/pop/click behavior first started? As in, I was on one version with none of this noise, then I updated to this new version, and the noise was present?
Still trying on my end to put together as much info on this issue as I can, and I have some information on this question already, but I would love to hear from a few more folks to confirm this. I'll mine this post for info as well. Thanks again.

Hello All,
I'm not sure what happened or how the post went live, because it shouldn't have. That post was a work in progress and not ready for release yet.
Yes, 3.0 is nearing completion but I encourage you to wait until the official release is done. We are currently doing a full regression test and a couple of things have shown up that we need to investigate. We also have a beta group that code goes through for their feedback and testing that still needs to be done.
So please hold on a little longer.
Thanks,
Lonnie

I've had my XMC-2 since one or two versions before V1.10 and I think the ticks and pops were always there, but seemed to vary frequency from one release to the next ... up or down. For me it was always most prevalent switching apps on Apple TV especially with Netflix. I haven't noticed any since I changes the delay to 100ms.

Glad that the lip sync may have helped in this case with the Apple TV. And just to confirm, have you noticed any actual lip-sync change when using the Apple TV, or do A/V seem to still be in sync? Seems to vary somewhat with this fix. Thanks again.

Firmware 3.0 HAS NOT BEEN RELEASED because it is not ready for release yet. (The post was in a folder marked "work files"). It was only visible for a while due to a file permissions error on ProBoards. Did 3.0 get pulled. Last night there were posts of people downloading and installing it. This morning (at least for me), those posts are gone. I downloaded the file, so I know I wasn't dreaming :-)

I started to notice the random pops/snaps/clicks with fw v2.0 maybe sooner. Now with lipsync at 100ms I would not say they are pops/snap/clicks as much as just a lower volume almost thud. Very random always triggered by going from or to 2.0 and 5.1 sources. Not as annoying as before but still there.

Hi All
I was just trying to upgrade to 2.5 as I have not updated in about 1yr. My receiver is only about 1yr old but I cannot stand when I pause a video or movie and then wait maybe 3-5min and try to resume I get no audio.. I need to go into the AV closet, hard power down the processor and wait for it and all amps to come back in order to get audio..
Someone know if 2.5 or 3.0 fix this? I Tried to update to 2.5 but used 3 different FAT32 USB sticks only to be shown " no usb stick" on my unit?
