Hi All
I was just trying to upgrade to 2.5 as I have not updated in about 1yr. My receiver is only about 1yr old but I cannot stand when I pause a video or movie and then wait maybe 3-5min and try to resume I get no audio.. I need to go into the AV closet, hard power down the processor and wait for it and all amps to come back in order to get audio..
Someone know if 2.5 or 3.0 fix this? I Tried to update to 2.5 but used 3 different FAT32 USB sticks only to be shown " no usb stick" on my unit?
Unfortunately v2.5 does not fix this. I have not heard if 3.0 will fix this so maybe someone from Emo can chime in on that.

3.0 does indeed correct this. Lonnie

So post 3.0.
Call it beta if you must, but I’m sure most of us would prefer the improved ARC, corrected snap, crackle pops, and frozen reboots over the production 2.5.

Yes... v3.0 will fix the no-audio issue... and that other stuff. It will NOT, as far as we know, affect which USB sticks will work. And we WILL be making it available very shortly. So post 3.0. Call it beta if you must, but I’m sure most of us would prefer the improved ARC, corrected snap, crackle pops, and frozen reboots over the production 2.5.

I've been getting a lot more of the "compressed digital sound" issue lately that requires a reboot, so I'm going to throw that one into my hope-that's-fixed-in-3.0 list :-)
Looking forward to release!

I hope that’s on the list as well, it’s been reported by many, though I don’t get it too often (I refer to it as ‘digital hair’). But have you tried changing audio modes to fix it? Like to stereo and back to auto, that will typically fix it for me, without a reboot.

Is there “Trigger in” functionality in the XMC-2 , couldn’t see it in the manual.
Use case would be using a streamer (eg: Bluesound Node 2i with a Trigger out) to turn on XMC-2 so family members could easily use Spotify connect without having to turn on Amp etc. Any other options for this?

I have an important question regarding ticks/pops/clicks for anyone who has had their processor from around firmware 2.0 days. Was there a specific firmware version where this tick/pop/click behavior first started? As in, I was on one version with none of this noise, then I updated to this new version, and the noise was present? Still trying on my end to put together as much info on this issue as I can, and I have some information on this question already, but I would love to hear from a few more folks to confirm this. I'll mine this post for info as well. Thanks again. Yeah I have been thinking about this. The only time I don't remember the pops being there was prior to me implementing DIRAC. BTW I added the 100ms and the pops are still there, mainly on Nvidia/Apple TV as the format of audio changes eg playing a movie in multichannel moving between apps/icons the beep is in a different format (or visa versa etc).

Not a trigger per se, the IR Input can be wired and accept an ‘on’ command from an IR Repeater like a Harmony Hub, and CEC might work, but I think most would solve that problem with a universal remote.

I had pops prior to implementing Dirac. I know this because I had my rmc1 for quite awhile before using Dirac. I don’t get them often, but I noticed it often happens when I first turn on the rmc as soon as the speaker channels activate. I haven’t really troubleshooted it though to see if it’s only when the appletv is on or not since it hasnt been frequent enough for me to bother.

I had snaps when changing inputs or going from streaming service to another. Updated to 2.5 and still have snaps, even after changing the delay to 100ms.
They're not loud, but as the wife pointed out, "that doesn't sound right."

Is the imminent release of FW3.0 an indicator that the HDMI 2.1 board is going to be available to buy soon?

Have the same problem. I think it's a memory leak of some sort causing the pops. Regularly do a hard reboot eliminates the issue for me.

Has anyone needed to send their unit in for an HDMI ARC issue? I’m not sure if the problem is my TV (LG 65 C7) or XMC2.

Things have been going good with firmware 2.5 for some time now until this afternoon when I turned the tv on and got no audio with my RMC in Video Remains On mode. Normally I do a Lowest Power reboot and everything is ok. For some dumb reason I decided to reload 2.5. The firmware has been "Unpacking" for 30 minutes now. That does not sound correct.
Can I turn off the RMC at this point and not kill it or should I just leave it alone and see what happens. I should have known better.
Thanks much.
EDIT: Powered down and waited 10 minutes. Turned power back on and then rebooted the unit. All came back ok. Will not do that again any time soon.

Long time reader, first time poster lol. I get pops and clicks for anything that mainly involves my Sony OLED XR-77A80J. I’m sending all my audio from the tv to a XMC—2 via toslink (it always works, I hate playing the stupid HDMI ARC game), I’m on Firmware 2.5, and my other source is a Shield via HDMI.
When I start the XMC-2, I get one pop from my left speaker, then when I use the built in tv tuner and change local channels I get a pop /garbled sound every time I change the channel.
Then also using the built in Apps in from the Sony XR-77A80J I get pop always, I feel it’s toslink decoding issue since all the audio from the tv to the XMC-2 is via toslink. I tried the lip sync fix that Brent suggested with no luck at all for my issue. I know he said it’s a possible HDMI fix and I was hoping for toslink too but no luck.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed the new HDMI board resolves ARC handshakes issues, and resolves all these pops and clicks.
Just my two cents hopes this helps.

3.0
Looking forward to (hopefully) being able to boot into low power mode without immediately locking up.

ARC is spotty on any firmware released so far, so I don't think it's something you can send in your processor for. I think most of us deal with this by turning off any ARC features we have problems with. That's been a big ask of mine for a while. I just want volume control and input switching to work as reliably as it did on my Marantz.
