If the clicks in HDMI Source format switching will go away - I'm happy with it - for the rest, nice to have for me.
if something else shows on the market, maybe after 3 years ownership and not fixed all issues, is maybe time to move on.
I still love the RMC-1 for how it sounds - and soon my new Speaker will arrive.

I can't wait until this release comes out...so that we can move on to complaining about why they haven't delivered the next release (you know, the holy grail one, that fixes everything wrong in 3.0).

The new Center has arrived, for the Front I have to wait until (September or whenever) it arrives - waiting everywhere.
Also some additional Absorber are not delivered yet. and the ones in the pic should go on the wall behind the speakers - was no time to do so far.

Having owned an XMC-1 (it sucked: full of bugs, bricked and sent back to beautiful Williamson County TN) and traded it for an RMC-1L, v.2.5 and still buggy as hell, I honestly don't think Emotiva is capable of producing a stable product. Call it v.3, v.4, v.5, whatever you want, you owe it to yourselves not to expect much so you won't be disappointed in the end. This opinion is validated by a statement "Keith" made in another prior post about "they're processors, they will all act and behave differently, YMMV". What kind of BS answer is that? So many companies are capable of producing products or systems that just work, Emotiva still can't. Spending 15 minutes every time trying to boot up my RMC-1L, unplugging, rebooting Apple-TV, Fire cube, Roku, etc., then enduring pops and black screen pauses every time I change a music channel in AppleTV, is simply not worth it anymore. I didn't sign up to buy the reliability of a mid-70s FIAT in the form of an audio processor. No wonder I barely use this system and instead use my elaborate Sonos system, which I know y'all will scoff at but it has 80% of the sound quality with 200% of the reliability that my Emotiva processor has. I turn Sonos on and it just works. No surprises, no praying, no cussing.

Still doesn’t fix the wrong that occurred but nevertheless my gear has been up 99% of the time. Reboot fixes it when an extremely rare hiccup happens. Look at my signature and thats about half their gear I own. I’m so sorry your having problems but many don’t and never speak up, I’m speaking up. Good luck friend. |

The black screen is happening because you have match content and frame rate on. Happens on every AppleTV. This is what HDMI 2.1 is supposedly going to fix with its fast media switching feature. I know this is tidious but you could turn these two options off so AppleTV don’t do any screen mode switching. This should atleast fix it when you listen to music. When watching video sources you will want to have these options on though. These are fantastic features that Apple has added. But the throwback being HDMI 2.0 don’t handle screen mode switching that good. It will pretty much do a complete resync with the connected devices everytime you change ”page”. This because Apple has made these features global. Even apps that don’t view video content will get this ”black screen” when doing screen switch. If you turn these options off, AppleTV should keep its screen mode set in video settings for all switches and not need a resync. |

So unless the sound format is in this format AppleTV is not recommended as a (music) sound source (most movies are in 48khz). A lot of music is in 44.1khz so these will all be resampled. Note that the processor will resample to max 48khz if Dirac is used. Although 44.1khz will not be upsampled like in AppleTV. Actually nothing up to 48khz will be touched. If you don’t care about this then please ignore my comment.  |

I use it with great success for Atmos recordings. How to use it?! Well in the Appstore just search for it and download. If you have an account then login. it has a slightly different interface than the other apps. But all your playlists are still there. I wouldn’t use the TV apps for anything serious. |
