At least Emo isn't like Nvidia. Cranking out new drivers every 2-3 weeks. Each one a bigger pile of worthless garbage than the last. The two extremes are not acceptable to customers.

My favorite one to hate is now Signal. 6 updates in the past 30 days. Nags you every release and eventually it refuses to run, telling you that your version is unsupported.

Setting up my AVM70 today! Hope you're following the users thread over on AVS Forum and do your firmware updates first... Word has it that the latest update will wipe out ALL of your settings without warning. Good luck...

Neither might be imminent but you may have coined a word for an Emotiva component! Emonent.. I like the sound of that.
A very long story
They were really cranking them out the first 1.5 years, but very few since then.

That only happened to a couple of people, but with the Anthem onscreen interface I can reset those in a matter of minutes on my iPad and reload my latest ARC file. Much easier than going through all the menus. I am still tweaking the settings to get the best sound and have not reached a point where I like the sound quality as much as my Emotiva. Still watching this site to see when Firmware 3.0 drops will it correct all the problems I was having. Time will tell.

I watched the Tips & Tricks video for the AVM70 from Audio Advice (available on Youtube) and made a couple of small changes in the setup. The sound is now incredible. I am very happy with the ease of setup and ARC.

Personally, and more to your point, I agree with you. I’ve been following the progress of AVM 70/90 myself…

I not want anyone to get me wrong. I love the Emotiva gear I am keeping. I have amps (which are superb quality), a pre-pro. Emotiva created an incredible processor in the XMC-1 that I traded in on my XMC-2. They just seem to be struggling with the bugs in their 16 channel processors. I loved the sound quality and Dirac Live. Just the problems with having to do a hard reboot when it could not change video connections or no audio on start up, etc. I will always support them on the quality of product. I just need a set and forget processor.

I clicked on the 'RMC-1/RMC-1L/XMC-2 Owners Thread (Post Firmware v1.10)' this morning and got sent to the Anthem AVM 70/90 thread. Is my laptop broken?

While some members may be interested in the AVM70, this thread isn't the place to discuss it, please move off-topic posts to a thread of it's own. Thanks for everyone's cooperation.

Still watching this site to see when Firmware 3.0 drops will it correct all the problems I was having. Time will tell. That would be my main concern with a switch to another Processor. For me sound is the main thing that matters.
except the sometimes POP-Clicks, I cannot complain anything. for the way my setup is used - I don't miss much - maybe new features and approve some functions I don't use so far.

I have been an Emotiva fan for over 12 years and I’ve about had it. Emo get this crap fixed or lose another customer. Really at this point it’s beyond ridiculous!

I can get 2nd hand XMC-2. Should I get it or should I avoid and get HTP-1 when a 2nd hand one comes up?
I currently use Yammaha CX-A5200 Pre. Anybody with experience of one vs other?
Thanks

Thanks Really just depends on your needs. If you want a processor now, really your only choice is Emotiva (of those two options) unless you can find a used HTP-1. No one knows when or if they will ever show back up for sale as they've been out of stock for a long time with no signs of that changing any time soon. If you want Dirac Live Bass Control, I'd hold out for the HTP-1 as it may come to the XMC-2, or not. There's no guarantee that it will ever make it's way into the Emo processors. Emotiva XMC-2 is going to be cheaper, so there's that aspect. If you are just looking for a good, no frills 16 channel processor with some bugs and issues, the Emo is perfectly fine. If you want more advanced features, web UI, built in BEQ (Bass EQ), among other options, the HTP-1 is the way to go. Currently the biggest issue with the HTP-1 is the dreaded boot loop issues but there seems to be some progress made by users on AVS who are trying to fix that themselves. Also the HTP-1 has not had a firmware update in a long time and Monoprice has been silent on any and all word about the unit and it's future. In Emotiva's credit they are communicating so that is appreciated.
