And all this time I thought @keithl was talking about bit rate, not $000’s for for great sound.

And while 44 and 48K are very similar, 16 bits vs. 24 bits is another matter entirely.

I agree. The signal to noise ratio between 16 bit and 24 bits should be inaudible, and we all know how some of us loungers feel about improvements that are inaudible. Problem is that the difference is audible. There is a difference in dynamic range on paper. But once again people have argued that the difference should once again be inaudible. But it's not.

But are you willing to spend $3,900 to get it? 😉

Application folks goes well beyond the numbers. Yeah watch Keith Schiit on that one. Come on Keith chillax. Still love you man. Source. Where are you getting this from, also all the other factors. Recorded well or rather schiity. When I create for sharing I have gone back and forth 16 bit 48khz and 44.1khz. Most don't know or care. Also in a abx blind test, could you reliably tell the difference? This is a fun topic but sometimes it goes beyond the math. There is amazing stuff in low and high res. And total Schiit in the lands of both kingdoms. Just part of the fun I guess. I never have any reason to go above 48khz when I create. I don't speak for anybody else so as always everyone's mileage may vary.
