As expected, my UMC-200's power light turns orange if I turn it on from the back (or unplug/plug the power cord). But now, when I push the front-panel power button, it turns blue for a second and then goes off completely. Does anyone know if there is anything I can do myself to fix this? Perhaps a secret handshake button sequence or an accessible reset button somewhere?
I can't provide any firmware info since I can't get to that screen. I am the original owner and while I just read (here on the forum) that it came with a 5-year warranty, mine was purchased around September 2014 (about 5-1/2 years ago?).
Thanks in advance for any help.

I would call Emotiva tomorrow and talk to support. If they can’t suggest anything simple over the phone, they may be able to repair it at a reasonable fixed amount.

I have the same issue. I spoke to Emotiva and they told me they no longer repair the UMC200.
Any advice on what I can try to diagnose and possibly fix the issue?

There are only two things to do. Pop the “hood” and make sure there isn’t a loose connector ribbon or otherwise in there. If that doesn’t work, make a list of everything you need in a processor and go shopping. Anything else with that unit is now a wasted effort (sorry!)

I'm sorry for taking so long to follow-up. I'm sad that the manufacturer is abandoning owners of a product that is only one year out of warranty. I expected to pay for a repair but not even accepting it for service, per the post above, is uninspiring. In the end, I took Bill's advice and replaced it. Our "big screen" doesn't get used much these days so spending less for a simpler and family-friendly processor was the wise choice for me. I actually got a nice receiver/processor and used the pre-amp outputs to connect to the existing power amps. SO, IF ANYONE WANTS MY NON-FUNCTIONING UMC-200... ...it's free to anyone here. I'm near Walnut Creek, CA (20 mins east of San Francisco) and first dibs goes to anyone that wants to pick it up. Otherwise, I can ship it at your cost--my business has a nice UPS discount so even that won't be too expensive. I also have a DVDO Edge that is not responding and that's free for the asking. Remotes for both are included. Because of my low post count, I'm not sure if I can get direct messages so please try but also post something here. I'm not getting notices when there's a new message in this thread so I'll check in once in a while--please be patient. And lastly, thanks to Cawgijoe, Savagecanuck, & 405x5 for the kind help & suggestions.

10and2,
I live in the North Bay and would drive out to get it... But, I'm currently out of state until mid-August. Let me know if you don't mind holding it for that long? Otherwise, if you don't want to hold for a couple more weeks, how much to ship to zip code 53090?

A couple of updates. Spoke to a gentlemen in TN who repairs Emotiva equipment. He believes this is a common problem and "over the phone estimate" would be $75 repair + shipping. I can share his number if anyone is interested. Also searching the forums further, found some DIY. If you're handy, sounds like replacing C18,C19 is a common fix. emotivalounge.proboards.com/post/1000847/thread

Just replace C18 and C19, ideally with some parts with a little higher voltage. Did this 2 times already, easy to do and the parts cost just cents.

Vince ( flyingv ): Can you check your messages or message me back? I've left a couple direct messages for you and haven't heard back. I haven't heard from my North Bay claimant so the free UMC-200 and DVDO Edge is back up for grabs. I wanted to give those that kindly contributed, or followed this thread, first dibs but may post this again in "The Emporium" if no one here wants it. Includes rack ears & microphone for the UMC-200 and remotes for both. I'd be happy if someone here could bring it back to life for themself, a friend, or even to sell. Please remember, the UMC-200 has at least a power-up problem and the DVDO... well, I don't remember what was wrong with it, if anything (if you only want the UMC, that's fine too). I do ask for one of these three: (1) A prepaid shipping label for UPS or FedEx (I'll give you the box dims & weight), (2) Local pick-up near Walnut Creek in the San Francisco Bay Area, or (3) Reimbursement for UPS shipping. Thanks!

I'll gladly pay the shipping on the UMC-200 to me here in Colorado so I can try to revive it or at least have some spares for mine.

Thank you, I received it today, pulled the power supply and C18 was bulged. Replaced C7, C18, and C19 with caps I had on hand that were close enough and she powers up.
Now to find some feet for it.
