Does Lonnie EVER get around to talking about music? That is the final reference. IF a given instrument produces a positive wave at the listener than THAT is correct and should theoretically be reproduced in that fashion.
Studio stuff is a mess. I don't know of anything like a standard which may be followed during production and 'post'. It may even be worse when you have an album with some players on a given song not even in the
same city. Everything was engineered together in a studio somewhere.
I've done some testing in my system using Magnepans. Only a Very Very few indivual songs made any difference as to absolute phase. Most not. And I was never able to make a conclusion about
live VS studio. Maybe with a solo instrument, but I don't think I have enough good recordings to test.
