Hey ya's Got a XMC-2 on the way and a opportunity just popped up for a Wyred 4 Sound MC 7150 7 channel power amp. Currently running XMC-1 with XPA-1L on left and right and 3 UPA-1 on centre and surrounds. Planning on 5.1.4, will get rid of the 3 mono UPA's and can then run the whole 5.1.4 of the 2 XPA-1L and the 7 channel Wyred 4 Sound. Should be fine yes? The Wyred 4 sound is a couple of weeks old only and can get for $600 US which would be a bargain indeed. Z

man that soudns great. You'll probably have to adjust the gain levels slightly as your UPA-1 was 32 db gain, the XPA-1 L is 29 db gain and the W4S is 30 db gain.

Yeah, that should not be a problem, whole system due to expected arrival of the XMC-2 on Monday would have to be a set back up anyway. Even considering selling the XPA-1L's perhaps and have the L C R speakers all driven by the same Wyred 4 Sound amp, and set up 5.1.2 for the moment and later obtain a cheap 2 channel amp to run the extra 2 overhead speakers from that once ready to go 5.1.4. The overheads being more or less effects speakers make me think that that should be an ok option. Have not heard from seller yet, so hope the power amp was not sold overnight , see what happens. Would cool down the house a lot too, running 5 mono blocs tennds to heat the room a fair bit, ok in winter, not so ok in the summer hehe Z
