Just added a S8 Flex sub to my system to bring it to a 7.2.4 setup. My new S8 I connected to the center sub output and in Speakers Preset 1 Size have it set as LFE. In the same preset my first sub I have connected to the left subwoofer output and in Setup is set for Left/Right Mono. Should say this is with an RMC-1 processor.
My problem is that I have both subs set to Auto and my S8 is not responding/turning on when I watch tv, play a movie, listen to music, etc. The other sub turns on as it should when a signal is present.
Reading the manual it sounds like I should be able to set the S8 to Auto, play a movie or music, and have the sub respond (turn on). Volume dial on both subs is set to the midway point. When setting levels, the S8 does turn on but will turn off several minutes after the Level signal is removed and I go back to regular programming. I can of course set the power switch to on, but would rather not need to do that. I would like to make sure a signal is being received by using the Auto setting.
Is there a setting I am missing for the S8 or something else I am not doing or doing wrong?
Thank you very much for any help/advice provided.

Run the S8 on the right or left sub output and turn center sub off, and dual mono for the other sub settings. That should fix it

Does doing this mean I would not be using the LFE connection? I would connect the S8 through the Left Right In connection? Thanks again.

Yes do not use the center sub, and in the speaker settings turn center sub to off. If you set it to LEF it takes bass away from the other sub channels I think.
