My little wet/dry shop-vac fits in this category. I use it maybe once every six months, but when it's needed... A new air conditioner install was done with a cracked PVC fitting on the evaporator drain line. This allowed condensate to fall outside the pan and soak my insulation and sheet-rock ceiling (water was dripping through into my living room). The cracked fitting was under the insulation, and took a couple of days to find. But when we DID pull out the insulation and found all the water between the ceiling joists, the wet/dry vac got it all up in minutes. Would have been a PAIN to sop up with towels and wring into a bucket. So I nominate my wet/dry shop-vac as one of the "seldom-used necessities."

My similar small Shop Vac I use for many projects. Dry vacuuming outside the front door, garage and car (or the Dyson for the car). Reverse the hose and it becomes a great blower for cleaning off the patio and paver area in my backyard, usually once a week. I love it but never have used it yet for any wet vacuuming.

"Things you don't need often, but REALLY need when you do" Been researching my next gun. The HK MR556 A1 is the civilian model of the HK416 which is the preferred weapon of choice by special forces. Jamming less than the M16 and M4. The same gun used by Seal Team 6 to take out Bin Ladden. Also the weapon of choice by Delta. Seen below is an optical sight I prefer. The dot doesn't have to be aligned in this specific sight. Wherever the dot is in the optic is where the bullet lands. Was also really hoping today to order my .22 hand gun with threaded barrel and suppressor [but didn't]. The perfect weapon to stand my ground against nocturnal rodents.
