This might be a good one to ask Emotiva directly. I'd mentioned before the ceiling arrays they built for their Atmos demo...whatever they did for that would likely work for you. I'm not sure who built them, but I'd start with Damon, and if he's not sure see if he can steer you to who did it.

Wondering if they did the same. Thanks Mark.

I just bought a similar version off of Amazon just now. These ought to work well. I'll probably put a drop of Gorilla Glue on them to be safe.

Manufacturers use this type of screwed inserts in MDF and HDF board, it's the right thing to do. They use it to fix big subs driver into the cabinet.

I have a full box of these. I was selling a pair of speakers and one of the inserts unscrewed itself years before and I had forgotten I saved it. So I bought a box (minimum order amount) of the exact replacement - same depth, thread, and shoulder design, and found the original insert a day later but couldn't cancel the order because it shipped same day. The box is still sealed. So if I ever need any I know right where they are.

Not a fan of Gorilla glue personally - watch out, some versions foam! (Learned that with my son's Pinewood Derby car...LOL!) And, I would consider an epoxy instead. Also, it looks like the A1 just has a hole at one end. Are you going to add more holes/mounting points to distribute the load? Personally, I would. Mark

And PS - I think what you are doing would be a good upgrade for Emotiva to add next time they change the A1!

They are so light as it is. I've seen heavier bookshelf speakers use the same hardware for attaching to mounts that use this thread. I don't really have a plan yet. Just buying some things while I figure out exactly where I'm going to mount these.

I saw some mounts and didn't realize this was a "thing". Just seems like a pretty simple and cheap add to the speaker line.

Just buying some things while I figure out exactly where I'm going to mount these. Nervous me would want at least 1 at 1 end and 1 at the other. But, I've not ever picked up an A1. Light enough and 1 should do. I was just imagining the torque on the 1 not being good. But, I will say - Emotiva's Atmos demo says these little wonders are pretty good for ceiling use - however they mount them. Mark

I ended up putting different mounting brackets on the back of the A1s, which required drilling new holes. I used the same screws that came with the A1 mounting brackets, though.
