Oookay... Not a fan?
Being an old country boy, this was somewhat a shock, though he has had heart problems the past few years. Always hard to see people you knew growing up passing away. I have a lot of memories from his concerts and music over the years (as a kid I worked -- briefly -- for another country artist as a soundman and got to meet some celebs like CD).

R.I.P. One of the few singers that have died recently that I actually heard of before.

There have been a flock of musicians that have passed away recently, mostly not The Virus, but pretty sad and a little scary. Ryan Anthony, a really great trumpet player, just passed away at a fairly young age.

Charlie Daniels was probably the first musician I fell in love with. At the age of seven I was calling the local country radio station and requesting “The Devil Went Down To Georgia”. I also saw him perform three times. The last time was two years ago and we felt this was probably going to be our last opportunity to see him. The show was good but his energy level wasn’t what it used to be. He was letting the band take the lead more than in previous shows. RIP and thanks for the memories.

Rest in Peace. Your music lives on.
Saw him a long time ago while working at Great Adventure in Jackson, NJ.

I don’t follow country music but I have heard that signature song of his. Surely you would have had to been an Ostrich not to. Didn’t take much posthumous reading to find out now that he was my hero! Be at peace!
