Is there a way that I could connect a headphone amp to my XMC-1 so that I could listen to blu-rays playing on my OPPO 203?

Why would you want to do that? The XMC-1 has a built in headphone amp

Is there a way that I could connect a headphone amp to my XMC-1 so that I could listen to blu-rays playing on my OPPO 203? If you did want a better HP amp than what is built in, the XMC-1 still has a ‘Tape Out’ where you could feed it.

Why would you want to do that? The XMC-1 has a built in headphone amp I have a spare Musical Fidelity amp.

Why not hook it right to the Oppo, doesn't it have two outputs?

Why not hook it right to the Oppo, doesn't it have two outputs? Only the x5 or audiophile version OPPO has a headphone amp. The XMC-1 headphone amp is probably more than enough for most poeple but it's not really a great headphone amp. I also used the tape outs, which I miss on the XMC-2. (it has zone 2 outs but that's not usable until the next firmware fix)

What’s wrong with the tape out on the XMC-1?

Me too, I use it a lot in the summer! I will say, it may still have a ‘level’ bug, but if you choose the input instead of follow Main, it works correctly (so it’s working fine for me).

Another vote for the tape out. The headphone stage is acceptable but not a game changer if that is your goal.Yeah take advantage of that external headphone amplifier.

My Zone 2 have heavy clicking and random noise that makes it unusable. Seems like this is a common issue, emotiva knows about it, and it should fixed on the next firmware update. Strange that it works for some and not for others but it def doesn't work for me.

Strange that it works for some and not for others but it def doesn't work for me. It seems to be related to your speaker configuration, and whether you’re using Follow Main. Choosing the correct input always works, with 1.10 I could even use follow main with a 7.2.2 speaker setup, but when I added a second pair of heights and configured 7.2.4, the popping came back. So those two things determine who hears it and who doesn’t.
