You know boom, the more I think about it and look into it, the more I think you really need to just bite the bullet and spring for those remote controlled motorized pro audio stands. I really can't see you being happy with anything less, and I know you will just keep posting thread after thread talking about it until you finally just go for it. It's only a couple thousand bucks, you can diet for a few months and never notice the money is missing.
