Hello all - please forgive my amateurish question. I haven’t been able to clearly understand everything on my own and am turning to you all for help I’m just about to be the owner of a pair of used PSA s3600i subs. Does buying a mini dsp and EQing the subs using REW and then running Dirac Live Full with the miniDSP after the XMC-1 offer any advantage over just using Dirac Live Full and leaving the minidsp/REW process out of the equation?

I have no experience with the Mini DSP but I can tell you that you’re going to love those subs. I really love the way they sound and their quick responsiveness! Congratulations! If you need more help then what can be provided here, Tom at PSA will fix you up.

Yes Any chance you’d be willing to expand on how so? If I’m understanding, the piece I’d be missing without the minidsp is time alignment? Everything else, Dirac should handle?

Any chance you’d be willing to expand on how so? If I’m understanding, the piece I’d be missing without the minidsp is time alignment? Everything else, Dirac should handle? There are a lot of factors involved with multi-subwoofer setups, and I would advise reading through the minidsp website and their user forums to get acquainted. Also since they are adopters of Dirac as well, you'll get the specifics on the basics of the questions you've asked about incorporating their products in your home theater. www.minidsp.comwww.minidsp.com/forum/index

Thank you. I agree. It is probably best to do this along with watching a few YouTube videos on multiple subwoofer alignment with MiniDSP. While Dirac, non DBC, will measure and create filters for multiple subs, it will not do so in a way where they "work together" or in conjunction with different groups of speakers. MiniDSP will allow you to align them all, make needed adjustments, and then present as a single "virtual subwoofer" to the G3P and Dirac. If we had a roadmap or timeline in when Emotiva was going to release DBC and the expansion module, it might be worth waiting because that would likely be a better solution in my opinion.
