I had the pleasure/honor of meeting her when I was with the State Dept. working at the embassy in Paris. She came to the Marine House for a wedding reception. Very nice lady. R.I.P.

RIP Thanks repeetavx for this thread. This is going way back. However I clearly remember Olivia and her sister Joan Fontaine. Joan was 15 months younger, passed away in 2013 at age 96 versus age 104 for Olivia, wow what good genes! Both were famous movie actresses and both received an Academy Award for Best Actress. I Wiki'd both of them and was surprised to see they were both born in Japan. They were also cousins to Sir Geoffrey de Havilland, founder of the famous de Havilland Aircraft Company. He died at age 82. Very interesting and renowned family.
