Hello All, I just purchased the S12 sub, but I am now wondering if I could have done much better with a REL or SVS. Not sure how to read the graph, but it looks to nose dive at 30hz. Some RELs and SVSs go down well below 20hz This S12 cost me over $1200 dollars due to import, duty and taxes to Canada - so not cheap. Can any one please comment on the S12 graph? Is it decent or is the dip at 30hz a bit too early? I am not sure how to insert the graph here but this is the link... cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/2572/6926/files/Frequency_Response_-_Airmotiv_S12.png?11217885736575303616Thanks Howie

Looks like the S12 is close to spec. Frequency response: 24 Hz – 152 Hz (+3/-3dB)
My Sumiko subs are -6dB@24Hz and only 3dB higher at 30Hz, so not much different than yours.

First off, I wouldn't worry too much about that fall-off. The difference between 30Hz and 25Hz is only -3dB. It's unknown how much smoothing has been applied the that graph. The important frequency response to look at is how it measures in your room.
I guess the question is, are you using the sub for music or home theater? Do you like how it integrates with your speakers?
I bought my subs a few years ago specifically for music to help the speakers I had at the time which only went down to 43Hz. I don't really need them for my current speakers, which actually measure really well to 20Hz. My subs spec maybe a little worse than yours at the low end, and I don't think they are meant to go above 120Hz - but I really don't know. Where my subs suffer is above 90Hz, really lumpy, but again - that's the in-room response. I'm going to spend some time next week trying to improve things for the home theater usage.
Sumiko S.10 (12" sub): 30Hz @-3dB, and 22Hz @-6dB. Emotiva S12: 24Hz @+-3dB
