Hey all,
I just got a 65" Samsung 8 Series (UN65TU8000FXZA) TV and the remote can control many different brands home theater receivers. In its menu I can look up Emotiva as a brand but I cannot get it to work. Does anyone know a way to make this work? ie. It emulates a Sony/X brand received etc? Getting this working would be amazing. All I need it to do is turn on and off and control vol.
Thanks, Andrew

The short answer there is that we DO NOT use the same command set as any other brand. (In theory every brand and model is supposed to use unique codes so they don't interfere with each other.)
A true learning remote, like the Logitech Harmony, can actually be programmed with specific commands... If you had one of those we could send you the list of commands for the PT-100 to program into it. (I think you can download it from their website because someone else has already entered the information.) And some learning remotes can actually learn the codes from the other remote control directly. However, on the type where you have to "pick your product from a list", you'll really need to find an exact match. (Note that the PT-100 and the TA-100 have the same control section and do use exactly the same codes.)
Some of our other products share SOME of their remote control codes.... So, for example, many of our models, including the XMC-1 and PT-100, use the same Volume Up and Volume Down commands.... (So, if you pick a different Emotiva product from the list, you will probably find that some commands work and others don't.)

Sometimes when getting a rmoete to work with 'other' brands, you will have a choice of codes to enter. You have to work thru the list until you get a match......
Otherwise? Keith is on it.....
I have a logitech and it plugs into the confuser and I search by brand / model and it works.....

I'm running into this exact issue - I have a MC-700. Emotiva as a brand appears among the Samsung options but none of the options work. The UMC-200 appears specifically, which I thought were the same codes as the MC-700 but that doesn't work. And lastly, when trying to turn on/off via CEC, the MC-700 successfully turns off and volume works, but the system doesn't turn back on. Samsung doesn't seem to let you program custom codes. I'm assuming there is a way for manufacturers to send their codes to Samsung for inclusion in their database, would this be an option?
