I am wondering if I anyone can tell me if Pro AV Dealer is reputable and if they are a JVC Authorized Dealer... They have an NX5 $400(plus no tax for me) less than anybody else and I got a WAF to purchase at that price...but I worry when things seems to good to be true they are... www.proavdealer.com/jvc-dla-nx5-4k-d-ila-projector.htmlI've been on debate between the NX5 or the 5050ub

That's tragic...I was hoping for a good deal... maybe there will be a price reduction across the board after CEDIA...

It's probably not going to help my 4k gaming...I would consider for $700 shipped but probably not more than that..and I'm sure you could get more than that somewhere else...

No it won't help with the 4K gaming. The 5040 is fauxK, 4Ke. I just looked at the specs for the 5050 and it's got some nice improvements over the 5040!

I am now using a 85" Sony panel. Being a little smaller than the screen I was using fits better and allows the left and right speakers to be spaced how I want them to be.
I used the Epson and a 100" ambient light rejecting screen for several years in a multipurpose great room. While it worked very well after sunset, it became too much of a nuisance for daytime use. I watch F1 racing and missed being able to have a bright room with company over to watch the races. So while I really prefer a projected image, and I have to contend with reflection issues in the panel, I made the right decision to get what I have now.
It's really just sad that the projector sits up on its shelf doing nothing most of the time. I use it for live timing and scoring for some races and aim it at the cathedral ceiling above the Sony.

Gotcha...I'm using a benQ ht1075 for the past several years but only use it for every so often for similar reasons but I'm looking towards a dedicated room. We might be moving soon and that's why I was looking for the JVC. I'm to get something that will last 5-8 years. I don't really want a fauxK but if the price was right, I would consider it for a stop gap(say 2-3 years) but even then..I don't think I would end up with a projection system after that. Panels are getting cheaper and cheaper and sizes are getting bigger and bigger. It won't be too long before 100 inch screens will be available for 4-5k. Long story, short. I think the next projector is going to my last projector. That is why I said $700. I didn't want to lowball you but the 5040 is most a surely better than my benQ but marginally and it will probably need a new bulb sooner than later...and that's just added cost.

Well, then let's bring the conversation over to the Emporium where my pj is listed so we don't break any rules. thanks. emotivalounge.proboards.com/thread/56630/fs-epson-5040ub-projector
