I'm thinking of putting 2 PA-1's in the roof cavity to power my ceiling speakers, mad or genius? I can run balanced cables to them which eradicates any interference that speaker cabling might pick up, and that's 2 more amps that have "Disappeared" from view (wife friendly). Only downside I can think of, is the dust up there.

Extremely hot 🥵 up in the space between the ceiling and the roof, over 100 💯 degrees every summer day....is that really where you’re thinking about going?

Go for it. But, first get a written statement from your house insurer that they will cover all damages in case of a fire. And make sure you have a fire alarm up there also.

I’ve considered that so probably makes it ‘mad’, but really not a bad idea. In the end it was easier for me to run speaker wire, rather than balanced cable and power.

Dumb idea, in my opinion. Install amps in ambient conditions. Run long wires.

I agree with everyone telling you it's a nutty idea.
right this minute it is 90f outside. Might have peaked at 93 or 94. I'm CERTAIN based on being up in the overhead once in similar conditions that it is at least 20f if not 30f hotter up there.
I think you could even attach a PA-1 to the wall in any orientation......That should keep it mostly out of the way.....
